The song about JFK fictionally shooting Munroe (er) in the face for me as well.
1963 is definitely my least favourite NO track- weak and limp. Sorry they have recently resurrected it for this tour when there are so many more worthwhile tracks - even off WFTSC. R&R for me then!

Agree that the single version (7" mix) is better than the album one - it sounds fuller due to the extra production but I still think the Kraftwerk-inspired 1963 is a good song, one of their best.
Two of my favourite New Order tracks... Round and Round (the 12" single version) just edges it.

Kraftwerk? More like Prince. Listen to the opening of It, released in early 1987.
While you're at it, listen how the synth bassline on the bridges of Round & Round appears to have been "inspired" by the synth bassline on the verses of I Would Die 4 U. Pretty blatant, I'd say.
Stephen, and possibly Barney as well, clearly knew what the purple one was up to during this era.
Is this the first second-half revival we've seen?
Am sure 1963 was easily beating Round & Round when I voted, and the latter's now found its second wind and is 4 votes to the good.

Oh god, yeah, you are SOOOOOOO right... I forgot about that uncanny resemblance between IT and 1963. The drum machine beat is identical. But I guess that is where the resemblance ends. I have that album "Sign O The Times" - the last great Prince album no less (everything afterwards has been cack). I guess I was just referring to how much of the song 1963 (synths, keyboard sounds etc) hints at a sound not unlike that of Ralf Hutter and co....
