We have received via email a mp3 of a cover done by Flight (from Liverpool) of the Joy Division song Shadowplay. The band asked us to feature their cover on our site.
I must say, it's not bad.. you can judge for yourselves in the Cover Archives.

I just downloaded this baby and it's kewl.
This is how Joy Div woould have sounded if they existed now.
I don't usually like covers but this one gets my vote.
Does anyone know if they have done any more?

err....... *shudder* ...it's like a lame Gothic cover band of Pink Floyd during a cover of Joy Division! ... thats not right... not right at all!
...where the heck is the tension building classic Hook bassline!! its gone without a trace... where is the adolescent raw punk inspired Bernard guitar riffs?? gone.. no its David Gilmour wannabe guitar or other late 70s type... the drums are boring, Mr Morris would be appalled!... the EXACT OPPOSITE of what Joy Division was trying to be... Gillian would have never joined them if they sounded like this! ... and the lame Peter Murphy inspired vocals could use a little adrenaline or bombast...if you're going to Goth it, then really go all out.

Aww c'mon. What would be the point of them doing it exactly the same way as before?? You might as well play Unknown Pleasures. At least they've had the ballz to try and do something different with it and I honestly think it works.
Whats the gripe about the drums? Your speakers must be duff. On mine there are drums all over it.
Anyhow I think it rocks and is kewl so much so I have just bought their album!
it's interesting. i like the vocals but the guitars...it sounds like a classic metal song or something...i'm just waiting for the cheezey guitar solo as i'm listening to it...oh there it is! urgh. SHOW OFF!
the guitars are way too clean...you need that wirey gritty sound barney does so well! i don't mind the rest though.
it sounds like an old bar hack cover band of wannabes... which if you read their website, the basically are... they remove the most rememberable part of the song, the tension building bass with the building guitar, and turn it into "Comfortably Numb"... lame, and boring... you could almost play it on classic rock radio except, even then, it would be too boring... sorry to be mean, but they are accomplished boring aging dorks with a guitar geek doing solos, i'd much rather hear some sloppy kids punk it up or someone with a sense of humour do a cover version....
