Seeing as i have something a little special lined up for my 1000 post there will not be room for the traditional thanks and general banter which generally accompanies these virtual 'landmarks'!
Firstly i'd like to send a MASSIVE shout all the NewOrder fanatics i've met either in Chandos, Finsbury or Manchester - see many of you soon again on the 19th :D also all the other guys and gals on here that i havent met - get ya arses down to the 'next' NewOrder gig!!!!
Special shout out to the usual suspects (you know who u are!) especially Shug - for his videos and his mad phone calls! look forward to linking up in a weeks time matey! Liv for letting me crash round hers after Move and being an absolute darling about it! and of course RocketMad for the MD's and for ermm.. well just being himself!!
Im not gonna do a big list of names cause i'll invitably miss some out by accident and get slated somewhere down the line!!
New Order have been a huge huge part of my life since i first enjoyed the joys of Substance all them years ago, the funny thing was i thought throught my school years and college years that i was like basically the only person that appreciated them for the immense band that they were, it wasnt until the internet bought their fanbase together that i realised just what huge international appeal they have.
I used to think i was a bit crazy for liking them so much, literally they could do no wrong in my eyes, and to enjoy every song of every one of their albums more than the best song on any other artists album i own was quite hectic! but also in a way cool, so many people wander through life not really 'enjoying' any music to its fullest, they claim they like 'everything' but actually love nothing! im sure u know what i mean.
I am by no means the hardest of hardcore fans and i take my hat off to people like Jarvo and JohnnyG for their worldwide adventures following the Order, if i had the money and time at my disposal then perhaps i'd be joining you guys :) but to me every NewOrder gig i have been to has been a special and unforgettable experiance.
Like many others on this board i drew a lot of strength from the bands music and Barneys lyrics and general charisma during my teenage years! although this obviously has waned as i got older and lifes priorities changed i still find many many songs very moving and most especially Barneys lyrical delivery is something i will never tire of hearing.
Anyway i think you get the point!
So hears to a new DVD, a new album and fingers crossed some more dates in 2003!
finally thanks to Nic and Seb for making this site happen in the first place!
cheers!!!! ![]()
