They're playing a Saturday evening slot, so that's 2 consecutive weekends in Indio, and with any luck they'll do a bay area show too.

Nice

I doubt that there is any chance that they will be playing in the NYC area, cause if they were playing me and thousands of people will go, let's see if it happens.

Can't you just go to Coachella instead?

I was thinking about it but it would be too expensive, the plane plus the hotel and the transportation would cost me more than $1500 for the weekend, it would be too much, I hope I am not being cheap.

A shame that emo crap like the Postal Service is billed above New Order.

Nice to see that How to Destroy Angels is playing and that Nick Cave is doing two separate sets.

New Order will be doing more US dates than just Coachella, I am sure.

I saw them the last time they played Coachella. They only played 1 hour, and skipped Temptation. Easily the worst NO show I have ever seen. I will never fly to see them again at a festival. In fact I believe the Vikings said it was the worst show of the Sirens tour.

So what do you think the chances of them playing Lost Sirens songs? I think you will be lucky to get one song. But with only 1 hour, and all the hard feelings over the Cd, I'm betting they will skip it.

The Coachella set definitely was compromised. Temptation should be mandatory. After seeing them 2 days earlier in Oakland, I felt like I shouldn't have bothered with the overnight trek to Coachella. I'll just hope for another date from New Order (and a few of the other Coachella acts) to happen in Northern California this time around.

What an ... underwhelming setlist that would be. No Toothache? No Temptation? And you get Jetstream and Hey Now? Ouch.

Yep... one of the great things these days is that New Order has been on the festival circuit for the past year+, and kind of know what to touch on to keep it strong now in comparison with all the other acts there. Festivals require an A game... you don't bring it, it will look sad compared to what's around you, legendary band or not. So, I think they'll definitely bring it this Coachella outing.

The other thing is, this year's festival lineup is insanely great across the 3 days. There's just so much amazing music to take in from new artists and legendary bands.

It would be great if New Order plays a new song that they are working on right now in the live set, songs like " Dreams on an unborn child" or " keep the castle" again these are silly titles that I made up but it wouldn't be bad if they played something new in the set.

They will play a Lost Sirens song of course.

They have not played an unreleased song in decades, if not mistaken. One could always hope they might like they did 30 years ago. For a festival show, this would be highly unlikely.

early version of that new song... "Dreams on an unborn child"

Hey there baby, whatcha gonna do when ya get aborted with nothing left ta lose Gonna fly in the sky sail on your wings like a gilded angel running wild sings...

The last time they played a 'new' song before a finished studio recording was imminent was 1987ish, with "Touched By The Hand Of God" about 6 months away.

If they don't want to travel any where they can just relax and chill here for the whole week in palm springs.

Nice picture! Even if the hotel/motel is shit, the vista is estupendous.

On the other hand, I understand why Barney is not fond of visiting America. It reminds him of hangovers, vomiting, heavy metal, etc.

Surely they'll head towards the coast to escape the desert heat.

Along the way they might stop at a grocery store and buy a drink for a few dollars more..[blackeye]

Actually this hotel is called Saguaro Hotel and it is in Palm Springs, I would not be surprised if they stayed there , it is pretty pricy with a nice swimming pool in the middle.

No further gigs in America will be announced until after Coachella has sold out or the promoter has provided consent.

Didn't Coachella tickets go on sale today?

There's a swimming pool in the middle? [:d] And if we click your google images link Linus we can see the bedspreads seem to have PSB's introspective artwork on them (ish). Which links up nicely with the thread about the Lost Sirens artwork. NO simply must stay there!

It did, and weekend 1 sold out in under 20 minutes.

I've been to Coachella 5 times (2006, 2008-2012), but decided to sit this year out. Honestly, this lineup feels like leftovers.

Most of the bands stay at the Ace Hotel. On the wednesday and Thursday before the festival starts it's not uncommon to see famous faces in the dining room.

There's a huge house rental business in Palm Springs, which is something my friends and I normally do - as well as some of the bands.
