[Now this is interesting... Who WAS Gerry & the Holograms? Did they know him? This sounds like a lot of early live New Order. Did this guy work with New Order in the early 80s? Did this song inspire New Order?

gerry and the holograms was mostly CP Lee, former member of 70's mancunian comedy-rock band Alberto y Lost Trios Paranoias, and latter-day "cultural commentator". on drums in Albertos was Bruce Mitchell, of Durutti Column

To mark the anniversary, the New Order Facebook site put up a YouTube link to Blue Monday.

Some of these "facts" are questionable, specially 1 (the band never confirmed that the song is about the day after Curtis' death), 6 (the band produced themselves), 8 (nobody knows for sure how many copies were sold) and 9 (it's part of the factory records myth, but it's not true).
