Fire is BOSS but could be dangerous with the impending FIREMAN SAMS strike.Sputnick has barred me from having a bonfire.:D Back on topic though just how can they do this to us.Should have made the box-set £40 and given us some great little rarities like the ones in HUNTSMAN'S loft.A CD full of flexis...well i have 3 now so it would have to be a CD SINGLE.But i had hoped for something to bolster this flagging collection so i will just have to make do with getting 23 CDs of D.BOWIE's GREATEST HITS.At least he gives the fans what they want...does he....NO! Maybe, they haven`t got that much to offer, a handful of rare mixes, a load of dodgy live performances[that we loved] and some studio stuff. That about sums it up :touthless:

30 years audio work = 10,000 alternative 'studio' outtakes of (I'd guess) every song.

Someone should be sorting this stuff out. The Best Of was released about 10 years ago, and was poor then. 2002 = The Best Of II with the same tracks ... what kind of box set is that? - I've never seen a box set that didn't contain 'rare' stuff. That's all we're asking.

Box set does not = The Best Of II.

And let's remember we still have a "peace and love picture sleeve à la Beck" compilation coming. Best Of II is coming soon !

What's the point in a poinless boxset ?

Where is Recycle ?

They`re such perfectionists these days, just like the gigs, its all to to do with image, does this spell the end?

If you play Fast 'n' Throb so loud that you think your head will expolde. You can begin to hear this mantra from between the grooves.

'Beat breaks down till my head explodes' 'Beat breaks down till my head explodes' 'Beat breaks down till my head explodes' 'Beat breaks down till my head explodes' 'Beat breaks down till my head explodes'

Only then will you have experienced Regret. I now have a headache.

Look mister. The day 'Regret' came out I was in the shop at 5 to 9 picking up the 12" ... I pegged it home and listened to the pickled egg 9 hundred times. And shit it was loud.

There's Regret, and there's Regret Fire Island.

Your persistance is impressive, most impressive.

I will again seek out the championed Saber tiger effort and attempt to bond ... again.

If I recall a great gunslinger influence was in evidence however the drums sounded not unlike someone standing on bracken.

They've done it again. Why do they never miss a chance of missing a chance. I am disgusted and furthermore I am not buying the stupidly named IV.

The live CD is not much diffferent to what I'd heard, but I also heard they were gonna put Temptation and YSF on it from the Cologne concert....so I'm a bit pissed off about that! It's not that bad, there's a lot of different stuff I'd have on it, and gutted not to see the evening sessions versions on here cos Slow Jam was magnificent....even though I have the CD, it woulda been nice to see it officialy recognised.... ach well, I'm reasonably happy:D

They should've included another disk, no. 5 (and still kept it entitled 'IV') with exclusive 30 sec. footage of Bernard taking a rumble at Hulstfred with his gunslinger jacket on.

Top notch.

I really don't think it's necessarily aimed at the 'ardcore.

After all, this is a business. They need to shift units. And they still have to appeal to the general public.

I'll buy anything so they've already got my sale. Now they need to flog a few copies to the man in the street. And then hope he goes out and buys the rest of their back catalogue.

What casual fan is likely to buy a 4 CD set, unless it really does have a bargain price?

What is the "Original Version" of "Everything's Gone Green" please ??? And is the "Chemical Brothers Remix" of Here To Stay already available??? Is it the radio edit or what?

Help! :frown:

As a business proposition IV is in my opinion fatally flawed. It gives too little to the hardcore fans and it is far too much for the innocent bystander at whom International is rightly aimed. It is nothing but another shot at milking New Order back catalogue with a cheap and cheerful product who "will do for now"

The Chemical Brothers remix will be the 6 minute 50 version of the song and not the edited radio version....as fer EGG, this was brought up on the other site, one version was recorded in 81 fer the EP, the second version was done at a later date and can be found on Substance.....I may be wrong, but I think this is the events everyone decided on:lol:

There is the original "here to stay" which hasn't surfaced yet (and might never officially surface at all) - i think it clocks in at 6:50 and has the original "to rescue you and i'll set you rfree" vocal. it has also few to no guitars at all and is weaker. But isn't Here To Stay weak anyway...

Here To Stay is a superb track......thanks fer helping me oot with the 6,50 bit though;)

Gotta dash, finish work in 5 minutes......and it's straight back fer a wee party and a few alcoholic beverages:D

I agree; HTS is very, very good.

Perhaps you were thinking of Such A Good Thing when you said "weak."

Who knows, maybe they'll surprise us..

Like by putting the Elegia DEMO 20+ mins..

I doubt it, as it would take 1/4 of the CD, but well...

What's the point of releasing a box set if the collector, which is the person who is aimed by this, has everything?

I'm happy to see the Sabre remix on CD though.. I didn't manage to get the japanese release of Republic, so I don't have it on CD.. only MP3 and Sebastien's 12"..

But I still think the Recycle project must go on... we want a re-release of all the damn singles.. do it the Depeche Mode way, 4 box sets, or re-release each single on CD!!

Dunno where you heard that Shug - wishful thinking on your part. They weren't included in the list of tracks we had.
