The boxed set: another angle

Yes, by now we all know "IV" sucks... at least the tracklisting! But what about the artwork? Fucking shite as "International"? And the booklet? Will there be any interesting stuff on it, or just another Paul Morley story?

I'd ask George what his favourite soup was but he'd probably go bonkers and kick his own shoe off.

Oh goodie, yet another IV thread where people will rush in to complain. I for 1, am going to hold my opinions until the box is in my hot little hands and I am listening to the live disk while reading the booklet being glad that NO is still together making music, putting out material.

you're actually gonna buy that? i wish i had money to burn like that. i'd rather download the stuff i don't have from the box set than to waste my good hmv gift certificates and 100 bucks on that package.

I too am very happy that they're back together making great music (by the way, I reckon "GR" is one of NO's best efforts, no, really!) but that's no excuse for them to release such utter shite as this "Retro" thing!

How is Hooky supposed to eat without your royalty cheque? ;)

ive been waiting for retro or recycled as it was first called since hooky anounced it on radio one years ago and i was looking forward to hearing some UNHEARD stuff at the very least. but oh fuckin no, not a single new track, or anything dragged out of the dustbin and dusted off even. tracks like no version of isolation or atmosphere,homage,or the 4 track sordide sentimental stuff. bah ive a good mind to buy the box set and melt it down in disgust. thank fuck for peer to peer d/loading is all i can say cause shit output like this almost justifies it. lazy twats.

We CERTAINLY wouldnt have got half the priceless material that has shown how NewOrder tower over other bands had we only had access to official NO releases.

no, but seriously downloading and hometaping is just answer to inconsistant outputs like this. it'll teach them to put out consistant good stuff. especially those one hit wonders! downloading would have prevented such bad bands, such as the people who came up the dancing hampster song...whatever it's called, from selling any records....and they can quickly drop off the charts and these bands would VAMOOSH! GONE!

IM GOING TO DOWNLOAD DISC 4 unless the scarp the box and release just disc 4 since 1,2 and 3 are avalible as SUBSTANCE,THE BEST OF&THE REST OF

so... is this Box Set what New Order wanted to release, or at least what Barney wanted, and everybody else was tired of arguing? some people seem to blame the record company, its hard to believe that this is exactly what they wanted.

have i added wrong or does the Remix disc 3 run over 80 minutes easily...? even if the "Here to Stay" mix is short? well, they could lose the Combs "Crystal" mix easily, bizaree choice to fill up the box set, its not like you need filler anyway.
