Can anybody tell me what the difference is in the 2 videos Round & round 89 and Round & round 94?
And while your at it, what is the difference in Round & round 89 single edit and Round & round 94?

The difference with the videos is that there's one video with one girl only (the curly one i guess).
But for the songs...i never knew.

Never seen the Round & Round-94 video, so can't tell you, but the (pointless) Round & Round-94 removes the vocal repeated echos in the first verse ("done to me, done to me" etc.) and adds a tiny riff from Hooky's guitar instead after each line of lyrics during the verse (the guitar notes that were also in the original 12" extended version).
That's about it really, apart from perhaps a little tweaking of the frequencies within the mix, and perhaps some wider stereo panning on the orchestra hits at the beginning and other instruments(maybe). Like I say, all a bit pointless really.
I always thought the single version of 'Round & Round' lacked the punch of the 'Technique' mix, although the extra production made it a better version (with the extra backing vocals, etc.) The single version (and 94 mix) was always too heavy on the kick drum, and could've done with some multi-band compression to beef-up the whole mix. This explains why when playing 'The Best Of', you always have to crank the volume up a little when 'Round & Round-94' begins.

Cheers ANDREW for that informative insight. When the original ROUND and ROUND came out i bought so many different ones from CANADA,USA and DJ PROMOS that i could not fathom out which was which. The details though for the videos is excellent and i do not have the 94 one. Cheers Rocket Collector

It's from my best of video collection, why is it wrong?
Anyway, the only difference between both version, Bernard redid the singing... like on BLT-94 and 1963-94...

Your video is the regular video, not the 94 video.
in round and round 94 they got rid of the whole instrumental bit near the end too and added a lot of keyboard to the chorus.

the "curly" girl? let's give respect where respect is due...we'll call her PATTI from now on in the 94 version...which also has some differently timed cut scenes...but personally i never complained...but it is kinda weird having someone just sit there and stare at you from the tele for a chunk o' four minutes er whateva!

PATTI always was my favourite ![]()
by the way, the live-version in the video archives is pretty cool, didn't know that Bernard plays guitar on this one live...

No, no. You lot are getting mixed up with the difference between the Technique version of Round & Round and the single version which came out in 1989. The 94 version on 'The Best Of' is just a ever-so-slightly remastered version of the 1989 single edit - a re-recording with, as you say, a different take of the vocals, and a production and mix by Stephen Hague. The original question posed was about the difference between the '89 single version and the 94 album mix, and that was answered in my post above. As I said, don't wuite know why Stephen hague did another version of the single version for 'The Best Of' when all he did was remove a little bit of the vocal delays, and didn't even EQ or compress the mix properly, but there you go!
Andy.
