Please give me your explanations on Retro's sleeve. I haven't got one... except that maybe Uncle Savvy is being cheated by his dealer!
MIRRORBALL & THE EAGLE

the eagle is new order, the mirrorball is the disco movement which they helped to kill in 1980.
The eagle most definitely represents New Orders contributions to American classic rock.
The disco ball symbolizes their love for Donna Summer, whom, as we all know, wrote Blue Monday.

They're just trying to cash in on the post-September 11 wave of patriotism with the eagle, that's all. Nobody had the good sense to tell them we've since gone back to our post-Watergate cynicism.....
Doubt it, it wasn't supposed to be release in the US :D
They could have selected a beaver, I doubt Canadians would have bought more ![]()
Do you like my little montage on the front page? ![]()

A beaver nibbling on a disco ball.....that's got possibilities.....
Maybe to appeal to the Canandians, they should put Wayne Gretzky on the cover? Gordon Lightfoot?
Beaver? Nibbling? I'd like to nibble on some Canadian Beaver right aboot now!!! Hmmmm..this sounds interesting enough. But last night a friend of mine broke my disco ball!!! The nerve of her...that is why she does not get to touch the NO/JD record...

oh no, you've got it all wrong. the disco ball represents their indebtedness to the king of roller dance music, jeff lynne, and his band the electric light orchestra. the eagle--well, they obviously wanted to give a shout out to don henley and glenn frey. don't we all?

and where does the lovely olivia newton john fit into this?
oh, that's easy. ELO and olivia newton-john did the theme song to the movie 'xanadu' together. fantastic tune. i used to roller skate around my kitchen to it.
the mirror ball is because in the words of the great Robert Leo Gretton of Wythenshawe "It's just Gay disco!" referring to what is young apprentices recorded for Factory.
And the eagle is because its a bird of prey, which abreviated is BOP and thats what u do to gay disco!
How gay are New Order!!!
nope...you've all got it wrong...wrong I say!!!
the disco ball represents the World...the Eagle represents the Nigerian National Team...
New Order are telling us that, after yet another disappointing result in the World Cup...New Order are switching their allegience from England to Nigeria in 2006...
now you know the rest of the story!!!
