Yeah, so I'm at the office and no one is working so I'm going to go ahead and post this lame topic. Besides, I'm sick of all the "The Box-Set Sucks Posts". As if we thought it was going to be the bright shining savior of New Order's career and the begining of a musical revolution anyway.

Here are mine:

In A Lonely Place Murder Procession Confusion Instrumental Everythings Gone Green This Time of Night

and there's plenty more, but I can't think of them right now.

Atrocity Exhibition! How could I forget that one? Anyone else associate it with Roman Gladiators or bull-fighters (the whole "arena opens wide" line and all)? Or do you basically associate it with Ian himself and the fits he'd have onstage? Oh well, completely new topic, I suppose.

dead souls, the kill, shadow play, atmosphere.

p.s. already heard 'bela lugosi's dead' once so far. going to keep count this year.

Oh, this is a great idea! A New Order/Joy Division Halloween Party! I'll actually be seeing Queens Of The Stone Age on halloween, which may be as scary, but if I weren't, I'd be listening to:

  • Sputnik

  • The Eternal

  • The Him

  • Turn The Heater On

  • Atrocity Exhibition

  • Procession

  • Truth (Peel Session version)

  • Cries And Whispers

  • New Dawn Fades

  • Skullcrusher

  • Doubts Even Here

  • In A Lonely Place - 12"

  • Walked In Line

  • Murder

  • Elegia

  • Salvation Theme

  • Touched By The Hand Of God - Salvation! Version

Hardly the ultimate "party" music, but I'm sure this would make any joint-ridden late-night get-together go with a sinister bang!

hmmm I would love to reply to this thread, but I have a problem....and I would like to share it all with you.... I don't know the names of JD/NO songs. Hell, I dont know the names of any of my bands songs! I am really bad about bothering to read track listings/liner notes. I read lyrics so I can learn them and sing along, but I'd say for about half the cds I own, I don't know a single freakin song name. I just say "hey, my fav song on Get Ready is no. 5" So I would say a good Halloween song would be like no. 2 on Unknown Pleasures....oh oh or no. 6 on Closer, or even no. 7.... :skeptic:

I've just burned this lot to a CD, and it sounds fantastic and will be the creepiest thing going on my way to the gig tomorrow!

Has to be Dead Souls. Real Nosferatu stuff. One gig they actually came on to the Nosferatu soundtrack and started playing Dead Souls. 2nd night at the Rainbow 79 I think.

Definitely Dead Souls, and with Murder and In A Lonely Place in second and third.

Would all you so called fans stop complaining about the poor set lists. It's very boring and it says alot about your boring existance. Just be happy they are still together making music! It's not rocket science, it's just great music that make your ears happy.

Has anybody noticed that Love Vigilantes is not part of the box set.

I'm going to a party this Saturday. I wish I could bring this to play, but I fear that the music being played will be of the booty/hip hop variety. :nonono:

Even worse, there's this hot shot moron who keeps trying to hit on my girlfriend.

It's not that i'm worried or anything. It's just that this guy is a clueless twit who thinks he's some kind of Backstreet Boy.

He thinks he's all that and a bag of chips. But he's not. He's not even the bag of chips.

Atrocity exhibition, Shadowplay, and Day of the Lords all have always reminded me of Roman gladiators, bloodsport and stuff like that. Though Atrocity Exhibition actually goes "asylums with doors open wide", I think, then later it's "in arenas he kills for a prize". Eesh, some start to an album, like you're being dared to listen to the thing. I appreciated this song much more sound-wise when I finally heard live versions, where it becomes one stomping dance tune.

Happy Halloween!

Is it not called DUBVULTURE?I too like the SPOOKY mix though. AGHAST ....i aint't heard that one.You have the original and when did it come out?So many of the NEW covers and remixes i lack in my collection cos i always wanted the ORIGINALS and had no INTERNET connection until recently at home so downloading MP3's,just like the old LIVE tapes was not my scene. But since using this site i am very intrigued with both the LIVE and remixes cos it is good to be able to check em ALL out before getting the ORIGINALS now money is a bit tighter. At one time i would spend £100 plus on every NEW ORDER released single.Crazy i know but as NEW ORDER are not the only band i collect it gets harder to get everything. As the demise of the small record shops continues my only source seeems to be several INDEPENDANT shops and markets i use.The E-BAY outlet is not for me.FUN is the key.I only paid £20 for number 50 SUBSTANCE PROMO in mint condition about ten years ago when this was £40 at the time.Prices have decreased plus there are more FAKES on the market. If the guy who started this thread drops me a E-MAIL i will sort you out with some goodies. Cheers ROCKET MICK PS MONKEY...my BOWIE CD rare items are excellent but BOWIE has now starting releasing some of them aswell. So i have em in dodgy and ORIGINAL format now.But the bootlegs are very good recordings and the sleeves are SUPERB!
