lost count of the number of times that i have heard new order songs played to sporting clips on the bbc.....daft question but do the boys get some hard earned cash for these clips.... any favourite memories of clips to songs???

yeah..in Australia here too....last night, on our local Channel Ten SPORTS TONIGHT had 60mah tunes throught their sports intro/clips.... I do think they get quite a bit...apparently there's a company that registers all the tunes played on public broadcasting and collects / distributes to the respective copyright holders..... I know there's a local TV ad that uses DESIREE's Gotta Be, and she got paid close to $300,000 for that use....I know, my missus works in marketing......

I think the Perfect Kiss found its true vocation in life when it was used by the BBC's Football Focus, playing over teams as they scored goals - it was quite effective too!

I'm not a Royalties expert, but I'm sure Bands / Musicians gt paid when their music gets used on the clips.

My mate works for Chrysalis TV in London and he reckoned they get get someting like £80 for every 60 seconds played, so not that big an earner. He could be talking tosh of course?
