Like i commented earlier a lot of the good, fun and charming bits have been removed in my opinion.Also the great intro of the album version has been replaced by a kind of generic housey piano thing that just sounds like a million other chart friendly sounds around these days.Bit of a cop out that in my humble opinion.Still, it's no worse than hundreds of other songs in the charts or clubs.

Only 17 days to go now until the box set gets released. I think they might throw in an extended remix around the release date (06/11).

I got it off iTunes on my phone, and it didn't come with cover. For something off iTunes that's not cool. Now I have to go to iTunes on the computer (what year is this?) and download a cover and plug my phone into the computer??? And manually do it my self. I had to do this with Music Complete from the NO store as well. Come on NO, get with it.

Update: I just restarted my phone and the song artwork appeared. Oh Apple, is there anything you can't do?

Don't agree. Hot Chip remix is fucking Ace. It was never gonna be a track that competes with present day club bangers. Too slow. And speeding it up would be a baaaad idea. Hot Chip have managed to keep plenty of the original track and then added to it in an unforced way. If I were young enough to go to Space in Ibiza, this would be a perfect Sunday track to groove to.

And the chorus seems to be repeated one too many times. Should have dropped it nearer the end and had more of the Camerata strings to the fore. God I'm not being very positive about this version am i. Ok what can I find positive about it.... erm..... Nope, struggling here

Tutti Frutti is 120 bpm. Hot Chip have actually slowed it down marginally to 119 bpm. Route '94's My Love is 120 bpm. White Noise by Disclosure/Alunageorge 120 bpm also. Just as examples. It would make an ideal club track, in my opinion of course.

Depends what you're into I suppose. Dance music has many different forms and energies. When I first heard Tutti Frutti and Plastic, I regarded them both as the songs that would work well in clubs.

In comparison, something like Par-t-one's track I'm so crazy, seems quite slow, but is in fact 124 bpm, and a great dance track. Most house music tracks range from 120 - 128 bpm. I'll be interested to see what other remixes of this track materialise.

The Hot Chip remix is very very good. I would even say this: New Order music has not brought an excitement like this since their 80s output. I mean, they've recorded a lot of awesome songs since 1989, but those did not stop me in tracks, like "wow, what is that sound, how is it made??" This remix reminds me of "Confusion" and Shep Pettybone's "Bizarre Love Triangle".

That being said, however, it seems that they threw in way too many cool ideas and compressed into one track, not allowing them enough time to develop on their own (even with a 11-minute duration), so it sounds quite fragmented.

Man, this song is actually pretty good and so is the hot chip version..... When I first hearde the album this was my least favorite but it has grown on me quite a bit... It reminds me of what they used to sound like and now actually do!!

Only today when we were out shopping, my 9-year old daughter admitted to me that she keep hearing "that bouncy song with a man's deep voice talking" inside her head all day long...

...funny though, i've been playing MC quite a bit around house since its release...but only Tutti Frutti stood out for some.....

Neon Indian should have remixed the track. Hot Chip did a nice job, but the track itself is more in Neon Indian style ('ve been listening to their new album a lot).

I'm friends with Alan (the main dude in Neon Indian) and he is a huge New Order fan (PSB too). We've had some long and very nerdy conversations about both bands. I agree, would be cool to hear him do a remix of this.

So... excuse me for totally being Mr Thicketty Thicke of Thicktown, Slow County, Dumbshire, here, but: is this coming out as a physical release anywhere? We've seen artwork of some kind posted on this thread as if there will be a printed sleeve for a physical release, and also that cardboard wallet that came with the Restless single is presumably supposed to be filled with some other things at some point. And yet: the 'release date' for this 'single' is almost ten days past and there's nothing physical for sale on the official New Order store?

Colour me confused. And yeah, I am a bit of a Luddite - I prefer my music on plastic media, not as zeroes and ones. I mean, I *will* buy downloads if there's no other option, but if there IS going to be a CD (or even vinyl) at some point, I'd rather wait for that. The thing that's confusing me about this 'release' is that I can't work out if there's even going to *be* a non-digital version of it at some point. And if so, when? And if so, why is the physical thingie coming out so much later than the digital release...?

They could have been clearer about all this...

EDITED TO ADD: Oh, OK - so they've said on Facebook there's going to be some yellow vinyl, at least. Will there be a CD? Does anyone know?

It's Mute's devious plan to allow you to buy a digital copy before the physical release you actually want is "ready". Buying multiple formats is standard operating procedure for collectors, but collecting digital files isn't particularly satisfying.

It has to be said, I'm one of (no doubt) many who've held off on purchasing the vinyl box set in the hopes a physical 2CD version is forthcoming. While a compact disc set wouldn't command the same price, surely the company must realize they're leaving money on the table without it.

It sounds as though the full Hot Chip mix won't fit on the vinyl, so it would be nice if the full thing is on a CD release...?
