Thanks, Jack --- I might try to hit the NYC or Boston shows --- loved a gig up in Boston a few years back ----
I ignore the divisiveness going on between everyone, and just enjoy both bands. Looking forward to your return stateside ----
Pretty damn serious setting up gigs almost a year ahead!
There's a few of us in Newcastle, UK that would love The Light to come back - we were sad to be missed out on the last tour.
On the one-before-last, Hooky said something about the club owner (Harry, club: Digital) and it reminded me that there's a long-rumoured link between the sound system that used to be used in another NCL club, Foundation, that played an indie night "Stone Love" (The rumour was the Stone Love guys got the PA and/or other bits from the Hacienda when it closed, and moved them up to Newcastle to Foundation). Stone Love later moved to Digital (where the Light played). AFAIK Digital is owned by the Tokyo Group who co-own the present-day Factory, and Stone Love is a night that plays there. (I don't think it plays anymore in NCL, anywhere).
I'd love to have it confirmed whether the PA story was true.
(Fact fans: the long-departed and much missed Foundation, which was undoubtably a rip-off of the Hacienda style-wise, originally called the Riverside, was the first UK venue for Nine Inch Nails, in 1990 or 1991. EDIT: oh no it wasn't. Second, English, 3rd UK it seems.)
Hooky should write some new material (I mean, if you listen to him for long enough, he'll have you believe that he wrote everything in New Order anyway). Touring the albums ad nauseam is tedious and bathed in revivalism. It's shite, the antithesis of what New Order were always about. Whatever you think of Music Complete, at least it's new.
