Both Amazon and Deep Discount DVD list 21 January 2003 as the release date of "24 Hour Party People" Region 1 DVD (US and Canada). The price is around $20 but there is no additional information.

I doubt it will include the second disc of extras that the Region 2 version includes.

Hey, at least it's Region 1.... :jump: :)

more often than not, the "special features" are not noteworthy. MP and The Holy Grail really goes beyond the norm in special features, but most other sets that I've watched are lacking. Still, would be nice to have the special features, and I don't see why it wouldn't come out with the two disc set...

Yeah but if the Region 1 version is not gonna get a whole disc of extras, then that's a "noteworthy" amount of special features it's missing. That's just really disapointing. But I'll still get it... I haven't even seen the movie yet!

Actually, I have seen it - it was screened here as part of the Melbourne Film Festival several months back - it's just the 'distributer' here is clearly dragging his feet in getting it shown again. CTB :bear:

Back in September in the Age arts supplement (called 'Eg' I think) ran an atricle about United Artists and their relocation/reorganisation et al.

In the article it mentioned that the distribution arm had picked up several critically acclaimed/arthouse films that were all slated for 2003 including 24hpp - I think some delays are in part down to the UA reorganisation.

MGM never puts many special features, and this one looks no different, just like my Ghost World DVD.

A special feature about Joy Division would have been so cool.

And for some reason, Ghost world never included the french dub, and was never released in VHS french.. bites me..

Doubt it.. it's not a New Order related thing.

Pre-orders are done, it's VERT RARE a movie release is postponed.. might happen once a year, example, Silence of the Lambs, because it won best movie of the year, they wanted to put it back in theatre again...

Well, it was an obscure enough thing here in the States, they fucking love that at the Oscars. However, I think the release date comes a few weeks sooner than Academy nominations, so I (thumbs crossed, knocking on wood) wouldn't expect a delay.
