24HPP and trainspotting are probably better movies, but pretty in pink is a very nostalgic movie for me--and the first time i ever heard new order...so it has to be pretty in pink, then!

by far "Trainspotting", but i haven't seen "24 HPP" yet, so maybe after that i'll change my mind.

Back in the mid-late eighties I saw some cheesy detective movie on television. During a couple of night time scenes where he was sneaking around the city on foot, the soundtrack was Confused Beats or the Confusion Instrumental. This movie wouldn't win in the best of poll but I wonder if anyone is aware of it's title?

Age of Consent in Wayne's World 2 is an instrumental. Was this a new recording?

Trainspotting, by far the best movie about Scottish heroin junkies obsessed with Bowie, Iggy Pop, and football :thumb:

Trainspotting (subject to change depending how a feel about 24H PP)

There was also a British mini-series, with buddy (name escapes me at the mo') who protrayed Bernard in 24HPP, that had parts of a Blue Monday remix in it.

I also have yet to see 24 Hour Party People  as it doesn't quite carry the same weight around here as, say, Eminem in "8 Mile", which I'm sure is a Oscar-calibre performance

Wow - they could have even put it on Retro, but then that would've been rare and unreleased!

BTW, it's 'Your Silent Face' (Instrumental) on a 2002 Wrigley's advert that I haven't seen - yet! :jawdrop:

I believe that they wanted to have the song in the movie, but they couldn't get around to sorting out all this legal crap in time. I think the movie came out right as Factory Records was crumbling and unstable business wise, so they just hired some band to cover the song instead. I'm sure they donated Cambell's Soup and Top Ramen to New Order for their troubles...

Damn those double posts.

BLT by Stabbing Westward and Blue Monday by Orgy yes..

That list was old. The poll however is not intended for covers, but well, in Wayne's World II, Age of Consent isn't done by New Order...

I picked "Pretty in Pink" because it had three really good New Order songs. But the movie itself wasn't as good as "The Wedding Singer". I'm just picking based on the songs in the movies, not the actual movie itself.

Pretty in pink recommended by my friend and it was the first time i heard new order and i've loved them ever since.

I saw Pretty in Pink just when I started listening to NO and JD. I still have the album.

Pretty in Pink...of course...been a fan since!!

Trainspotting is obviously the clear winner of the best of those. Wayne's World 2 is up there on the list for me too. And The Beach wasn't as bad as a lot of critics thought (I mean, Robert Carlyle--come on!).

I didn´t become a fan because of a soundtrack. The reason was that I stole a tape from my cousin Broxinha in 1987 or 1988,not quite sure.

I'd have to go w/Trainspotting or Something wild....

Donnie Darko had LWTUA in it but I guess that doesn't count cause its JD and not NO?
