Wait a minute... HERE TO STAY EXTENDED INSTRUMENTAL ?
Damn it.. I was expecting the original mix, not a f**** dub...!!!
Well, good side is, I won't have to buy the Aussie CD for it.
...seems that it's finally the original "Confusion" and "Temptation" but NOT "The Perfect Kiss" long version... ![]()

the extended instrumental is pretty cool! I've got the Aussi-CD, nice version ![]()
And Cries & Whispers at 3:25...
I'm starting to believe it's the EGG 12" that is incorrect.. or else, that's MESH...
Run Wild 3:56 ? Is there so much blank on the Get Ready version or what? (listed at 4:13 and 4:00 in the discography depending on the release)
Slow Jam 4:52? 5:31 is what I see on the discography...
i thought Cries and Whispers was incorrectly Mesh , and Mesh was correctly titled on Substance instead of calling it Cries and Whispers.... ?
Sabres remix of Regret is half of what i thought the original was, i don't have it myself.... i wondered why the remix disc ran way over timewise, so i guess that solves that problem.
Fine Time 4:42 (Album Version) Temptation 8:42 (12" Version) True Faith 5:53 (Album Version) The Perfect Kiss 4:49 (Album Version) Ceremony 4:24 (Re-recorded version with Gillian) Regret 4:08 (Album Version) Crystal 6:49 (Album Version) Bizarre Love Triangle 4:21 (Brotherhood Version) Confusion 8:13 (12" Version) Round & Round 4:30 (Album Version) Blue Monday 7:28 (Original 12" Version) Brutal 4:49 (The Beach version) Slow Jam 4:52 (Don't have a clue!) Everyone Everywhere 4:25 (Album Version)
Elegia 4:55 (Album Version) In A Lonely Place 6:15 (12" Version) Procession 4:27 (Substance version) Your Silent Face 5:59 (Album Version) Sunrise 6:00 (Album Version) Let's Go 3:53 (1995 UK Mix) Broken Promise 3:45 (Album Version) Dreams Never End 3:12 (Album Version) Cries & Whispers 3:25 (Mesh?) All Day Long 5:10 (Album Version) Sooner Than You Think 5:12 (Album Version) Leave Me Alone 4:39 (Album Version) Lonesome Tonight 5:10 (Original Version) Every Little Counts 4:26 (Album Version) Run Wild 3:56 (Don't know...)
What's the 1995 UK mix of "Let's Go" ??? But it's not the version as on the US-Best-Of or the canadian "Blue Monday" Single-CD, or ???

The one on the Nineteen63 UK digipak :D
Not the US version of their best-of...
But I think it's on the canadian BM95 as well, you're right.
I still can't believe they have Run Wild on the EARLY YEARS disc ![]()
I gotta say, as shitty as this still is, I probably get it at least for the booklet. The H&S one was very informayive and had that great John Savage piece, so i'm hoping they at least don't screw that up (though they probably will, seeing as everything else has been)
What gets me is they seem to have gone out of their way to include the stuff I've gone to trouble and expense to get already, and omit all the stuff I've never managed to find. I think this whole Retro thing was done just to spite me.

Yeah, a lot of the material is readily available on all NO's previous albums, and it doesn't seem like much thought was given to the fact that most of the albums have never gone out of print or have been reissued in some form.
I think the big disappointment for me is, when i first began hearing about the box set, it was posited as a "singles and b-sides" project, which would have pleased me to no end. That is the root cause for my disenchantment with the whole sorted affair.

There are a few moderately rare things, only they all happen to be the ones I've already got, e.g. HTS instrumental, temptation 12", the fine time silk mix. What I'd personally like to see are all those tracks that were only ever released on vinyl.
And a bonus disk of Rock The Shack remixes.

If they had went with the original idea of singles and b-sides, I would be okay with it.

These are just the final album versions as, ahem, the discography must be wrong. Since I've been a lad, I've kept a slowly dilapidating list of all my music (handwritten - too many tracks to ever list it on a spreadsheet or database which would be a full-time job for some time). On my entry for 28th August last year, 'Slow Jam' clocks in at 4:52, and 'Run Wild' at (guess what) 3:56.
Never trust what you read on the track listing. This is New Order, after all. You'd be surprised how many bands put incorrect running times on their artwork!
Incidentally, the 'Here To Stay' Extended Instrumental is 5:57, the original Sabres Slo 'n' Lo was 12:51, and if 'Substance 1987' has the correct track listings, 'Mesh' is 3:23, and 'Cries and Whispers' on the Everything's Gone Green CD single is 3:00, as it is on the 'Substance' cassette.
I think we can safely assume they've got the tracks mixed up, and it's 'Mesh' on there instead. I've got 'em both on CD anyway, but even so... What. A. Surprise.
The Lee Coobs 'Crystal' is also edited, unless it's the 7:04 Lee Coobms Dub, on the American CD single, and UK remix 12".
Thank you and goodnight. The Numbercruncher http://www.TrustNoOne.org.uk
The 12' version of the Sabres remix of Regret is way longer than 6'41'. I don't need more of those edited remixes. What's wrong with the original?
ANDREW what a great hobby that is? I thought mine was mad enough then someone else comes along and beats me.Great though to know cos i agree that some of the ORDER stuff is so confusing i used to mull over such MISTAKES.Easily made though once written down it is usually taken for granted.
Nice one!![]()

Cheers ANDY.
It's also on promo copies of the 12" and Muffy's freebee c.d. from the first Manchester meet up. IMO it's the best mix.

It busts the physical limit of the disc I guess :D

You think that's impressive, well you can read the only part of my music list (some 7,000+ tracks) which I've computerized: Andy's New Order tracklist, at http://www.morriso.btinternet.co.uk/NewOrderTrackList.html.
Enjoy!
Andy.
