Hmmm, I have them all (though not actually as singles) except the Bowie one. Never liked Bowie.

Blue Monday isn't that far outside the top ten - in fact, I seem to remember (I don't actually buy the NME - only read it in the newsagents) that it was number 11...
...And they mistakenly say that it was produced by Arthur Baker - which is bollocks!

Haven't bought the NME in at least 5 years, just glance at it while at Borders, or just check in at their website. No surprise here then that I join other NOOLers by having all 10 singles as well.
Outstanding choices...'cept for that darn Nirvana one. I think we coulda found something a little better than that, like the theme song to Sesame Street or something!!!!
Well i am glad to say i have only 8 out of the top 10 so you will be pleased that you are NOT me.Some good tunes here but my choice changes everyday.Thought DURAN DURAN should have been in with "PLANET EARTH" or whatever it was called.I wrote it!:D

Have never understood why people would want to listen to a record that sings about mashed potato 
are you guys,like, into Depeche Mode and Erasure and dislike anything aggressive and youthful, or doesnt sound like it is from the mid 80s? i bet most of you hate rap too. face it, the last 15 years have seen the breakthru and well beyond of hiphop, house, and punk. New Order has been influenced by all three also.

Punk has "broken through" since 1987? I thought it was pretty comprehensively broken by 1978. Since then its been dug up again repeatedly with steadily diminishing returns (till now you've got manufactured punk boy bands like Busted, and, retro bores like the Strokes). And wasn't hip-hop's heyday in the early 80s?
Anyway, you forgot shoegazing, baggy, TNWONW (lasted all of 60 seconds), industrial, grunge, Britpop, trip-hop, big beat, techno, trance, goan trance, acid house, hard house, deep house, prog house, ambient house, wendy house, drum'n'bass, jungle, garage, speed garage, romo, emo, nu metal (god help us), and uncle Tom Cobbley and all. Very little of which has influenced New Order (thank God, elderly gents who've eaten too many pies attempting to haul their lardy arses onto passing bandwagons is a distressing sight).
