My turn now!

I Listened to Raise The Pressure yesterday for the first time in quite a while and loved to hear the two final tracks again.

I may be on my own on this one, considering the rather bad reception RTP got overall, but I always had a very good opinion about these two songs.

Discuss!

 Does anybody noticed how Time Can Tell sound too much like In the Air Tonight, by Phil Collins? I waited years to ask this. Now I had the chance :cool2:

I think its Time Will Tell is a great track that rounds off the album nicely,

it reminds me of Special in someways which is never a bad thing :)

Time Will Tell ?

Of course, nobody ever mentionned the irony in putting consecutive song titles named "How long?" and "Time can tell". Very clever!

And YES, "How Long" does has this Kraftwerk vibe. And it sounds very "atmospheric" too.

As for Time Can Tell, I'm not sure about the Phil Collins ressemblance here???

How long has a great chorus.

Wow! I think If You've Got Love is one of Electronics' best tracks. Did someone mention a Kraftwerk vibe...

Until the End of Time is just too cheesy. "You're driving me crazy, oh baby"? Awful.

One Day should have been a b-side. All That I Need and I Feel Alright are both superior.

Forbidden City, For You, Dark Angel, Second Nature, If You've Got Love and How Long are my favourites.

I like how the album starts with just Bernards' voice and ends with just Johnnys' guitar.

I forgot I've you got love...

But UTEOF is WAY better remixed.. the Fluffy Dice remix is AOK...

I'm probably the only one on this planet who thought "Raise The Pressure" was good. Not great but still...

I always liked RTP the best of all the Electronic CD's

"How long" being my favorite. But I really love "Second Nature & One day". "Forbidden City" was something totally new from Barney. "For you" was a great Jam song (Like 60 mph & all the way.) "Dark Angel" was a total club song with great Piano from Barney. "Until the End of time" was a little weak, but the remixes made up for it. "If you got love & Out of my league" Are the weakest songs on the cd for sure. but I remember Barney saying he was taking Anti-depresent drugs at the time, so we can blame his doctor for that. "Freefall" rules & "visit me" is ok. And "time can tell" is good, but I like my music a little less romantic.

the b-sides ruled for this cd. "Imatation of life" is one of my alltime favorite songs And a great way to end a concert. A "new religon" was good until the back ground singers come on. And the b-sides for "for you" were top notch songs that could make any CD. "All that I need" is my favorite drug song. And "turning point" was good too.

So over all I give this cd a 9 out of 10. And the b-sides a 10 out of 10. I remember being in heaven when this cd came out. So I think I'm the biggest fan of this cd that is web site has.

I always enjoyed Free Will...

And I've never managed to decypher the lyrics in the middle...!!

Spotnick, I agree with you...those are also my fave tracks from RTP..."How Long" is still great, though...definitely the Kraftwerk vibe (didn't Karl Bartos write several tracks on RTP?). The one thing that would have made that cool album EVEN better IMHO is including "Imitation of Life". THAT is one of Electronic's best songs, I think ("Radiation" is a nice instrumental track as well). Although I'm sure not very many people liked "Twisted Tenderness", I still thought that "Twisted Tenderness" (the track) was another good song...kinda similar to "How Long" in that Kraftwerk vibe.

You mean that wierd voice? To me it sounds like:

"Bass line contaminated" or something!!

I can't believe that imitation of life and new religion were only b sides. Surely they deserved a place on the album, though in my opinion imitation of life should have been a single

I haven't heard "New Religion", is it any good?

And I agree...they should have made "Imitation" a proper single instead of a b-side...

Yes, I think A New Religion is worth listening to.

This is the song, by the way, that Bernard wrote while being on Prozac.

yep indeed, you can see him actually scribbling the lyrics onto paper and jamming it with Johnny at his house in this Prozac documentary that was screened on BBC2.

Wait, I thought that "Raise The Pressure" was all done WHILE Barney was on Prozac! I remember him saying that the lyrics on this album wouldn't be as deep because he wasn't feeling as deep...or something like that...

Right now, I'm leaning towards the more guitary tracks- Forbidden City, One Day, For You, Second Nature, and Time Can Tell. I'm just in love with Johnny Marr right now. I could go through 3 or 4 Smiths albums a night before bed. But I've always loved Freefall. I think this album displays one of Bernard's best vocal jobs, one of the top reasons I love this album so much. I hate people who crap on him, "His voice is so boring, one of the worst in musical history" or something stupid like that. If you don't like it, don't listen to it. Stop being so critical, it's really hard work to do all that writing and stuff. There, I got it all out.

I've always loved the last two tracks on this album. They definitely add a different tone to the album. In some ways, this album reminds me of "Technique" with the mixture of guitar tracks, dance tracks, and romantic overtones. The B-sides were excellent, too. I'll have to relisten to "Imitation of Life" to see why it's so popular. I especially liked the two b-sides off the "For You" cd single. Those were deserving of album inclusion. And "A New Religion" is class. "Turning Point" was good, but I think it could've done better if it had more vocals besides the "la la la" towards the end.

Anyhow, top overall album. My fave from Electronic.

I love "How Long". And Major is right, the chorus is great. It's one of my fave Electronic track. Especially on RTP. When i start thinking about this album, i always have on mind "Forbidden City" cos it was the first single (and a good one), "How long" cos it my fave song on the CD and "Until the End of Time" and "If u've got Love" cos i hate those 2 song SO MUCH. The latest one is probably the most ridiculous thing Barney have ever made. Maybe along w/this Technotronic remix that i have never heard. The "OOH AAH EEEHHH OOOHHH" (or something) u can hear in the song are just a shame. And the backing vocals are just as bad. Yikes.

Heu, petit message perso (desole!). Geoffroy, tu as toujours la meme adresse email? Tu as recu mon mail de la semaine derniere?

Oui, oui.

End of the off-topic personal message. Sorry about this.

Au fait, as-tu envoyé une copie du CD aux webmasters ?
