Sorry if I forgot one.. the meaning is, a track written for a movie (well, HTS was not written for the movie exactly, but you get the picture)

My guess, it will be a fight between TBTHOG and HTS.. but a edge for the first one.

Although I really enjoy Brutal (I'm one of the few)

wasn't Shellshock written specifically for Pretty In Pink? The lyrics are crap but i love the panning in the intro...nothing beats hearing Thieves Like Us during PIP.

Yep, I make you right BLT, but I'd be disappointed if it had actually been a contender in this poll.

Slight variation on this theme but I liked Moby's version of New Dawn Fades which features on the OST for Seven (?) or Heat (?). One of 'em anyways. Put me straight Bri.

If anyone wishes to change his/her vote, let me know :D

Had to vote for "Here To Stay". It has the signature New Order sound, and it has some emotional weight to it...the music video was really cool and very moving in it's own way, and it paid some serious homage to Ian, Martin, and Rob...

as far as i know moby's version of 'new dawn fades' first appeared in 1994 on a 7" single along with 'all that i need is to be loved (house of suffering mix)'. i first came across it in 1995 when i was given a promotional CD from the soho (new york) branch of urban outfitters, on which it was included. it was also on the soundtrack for the movie 'heat' that year.

i love "touched by the hand of god" on the salvation soundtrack. i never saw the film, but i got the album and the version of TBTHOG on the soundtrack is so much better than the single release, it fucken rocks.

Finally saw "Heat" again, it rocked! New Dawn Fades is key when Pacino is chasing De Niro :guitar: :bass:

I am surprised that HTS is way ahead TBTHOG, I have voted for this last one and I thought it would win by a mile.

Never saw Salvation! Has anyone seen it then? It would be a good theme for a poll, knowing which one do people prefer Skullcrusher or Let's Go?

"Here To Stay"...not too far behind there is "Brutal", my current NO-favourite.

Agreed. Baker's single remix seems to cut out alot of Hooky's bass, and the 12" version seems to be a bit over produced.

Anyways, I came across the Pretty in Pink soundtrack a few months ago and never realised that the version of Shellshock is different from the one on Substance. It's a bit shorter, but it has extra lyrics towards the end. They sound really out of key though, so maybe that's why they were later edited out.

I remember that "other" version of "Shellshock"! (I also have the 12" LP single of that)....he sings something like "After all the years, now I can't see through tears..." or something like that (it's right before the "I've been good and I've been bad" verse)...
