I don't remember seeing this explained before, but I could be wrong. According to NME.com the name of the DVD Finsbury relaease is explained as 5 Joy Division songs and 11 New Order songs played in the set.
A quick scan reveals 3-16 to be based on the same formula (over the two sets). However, it seems they count Ceremony as a New Order song. Fair do, they're the boss.
Well.. Ceremony was never released as a Joy Division song.. sure you have the demo on Still, and it's written by Joy Division, but it was released and performed by New Order..!

Can't believe it was so simple, yet none of us nutted it out.
It'll come as an immense relief to that NOOLer (can't remember his name) who endlessly reminded us that 316 alluded to a typographic effect at the start of Taras Shevchenko.

True of the '3 16' DVD, perhaps, but the Finsbury Park DVD only has 14 tracks so should surely then be called '5 9'?

Now we have another valid explanation and I'll never have to explain that cyrilic typography thing again, thank goodness. Let's hope there won't be any typographic trick in the 5 11 video... :D

This is all wrong.
THE MAJOR THEORY:
5:11
5th letter of the alphabet is E 11th letter of the alphabet is K
3:16
3rd letter of the alphabet is C 16th letter of the alphabet is P
P E C K
which equates to
PERFECT KISS PE---C- K---
The next releases will continue this until Perfect Kiss is spelled out in full and the band will then start playing it live again. It is also a reference to the performance of TPK at the Homage night, which Hooky attended (disguised as ShugZV).

TPK at Homage wasn't a Perfect Kiss at all. It was a full-on snogfest, tongues and all, degenerating into filthy sex. Well that was our hotel anyway !!
