Believe it or not, I was almost starting a thread asking about Barney and Hooky swapping instruments at "Atrocity Exhibition". It's not necessary anymore.

Oh, and I voted for "The Sound Of Music" by the way.

Electronic don't count. He couldn't swap instruments with Hooky in electronic.

Well I'm not a musician, but I tried to be one and I know that playing bass (a 4 string one at least) and guitar are quite different technically -- if you play without a pick I mean.

This is almost on topic.

Was anyone else shocked upon hearing For You by Electronic for the first time? The bass was certainly played by Johnny Marr but I've never been able to decide if it was a tribute to Hooky, or a slap in the face.

"Here is the Young Men" is Joy Divisions live video .. From two different shows I think ? . The quality isn't great but still worth watching ...

i read in an interview that Barney wrote the Sound of Music bass line and Hooky the guitar rifts, so that was why they switched for that song.

does anybody know if which/any of the New Order trax basslines were played by the now infamous acidic Roland TB-303???

whats wrong with hooky's singing??? his lyrics are kinda spotting but okay in small doses. Barney outta let Hooky have at least one vocal on the new record.

Wasn´t the bass played by Guy Pratt?

Didn't Bernard also play the bass during the New Orderish breakdown in Out Of Control? It has to be him on the guitar, but the bass line is pure New Order.

Guy Pratt only plays on Time Can Tell.

Anyone out there have thoughts on the above mentioned bass part?
