Believe it or not, I was almost starting a thread asking about Barney and Hooky swapping instruments at "Atrocity Exhibition". It's not necessary anymore.
Oh, and I voted for "The Sound Of Music" by the way.

Well I'm not a musician, but I tried to be one and I know that playing bass (a 4 string one at least) and guitar are quite different technically -- if you play without a pick I mean.

Was anyone else shocked upon hearing For You by Electronic for the first time? The bass was certainly played by Johnny Marr but I've never been able to decide if it was a tribute to Hooky, or a slap in the face.

what is "here are the young men"? a music video?
"Here is the Young Men" is Joy Divisions live video .. From two different shows I think ? . The quality isn't great but still worth watching ...
i read in an interview that Barney wrote the Sound of Music bass line and Hooky the guitar rifts, so that was why they switched for that song.
does anybody know if which/any of the New Order trax basslines were played by the now infamous acidic Roland TB-303???

that's an amazingly good one. one of my favourites that JD ever did, and i thought it was a signature barney JD line.
Didn't Bernard also play the bass during the New Orderish breakdown in Out Of Control? It has to be him on the guitar, but the bass line is pure New Order.
