'Retro' - how I'd have done it

Well, after the lengthy debate here about what should and shouldn't be on Retro, I've done my own little list of what I'll burn to 3 CDs to accompany the boxed set when it does come out. I'm more than chuffed with the 'live' disc 4 as ti is going to be released, and the 'bonus' disc covers a bit of what we'd have liked to have seen on the set, but I've customized my own discs 1-3, keeping in mind it can't go over 80 minutes, and each disc has a general "theme" to it.

I think this version would have gone down a lot better with us fans, whilst keeping enough single versions on the set to appeal to casual fans of the band.

The only thing missing from my list below is any album tracks, which we all have anyway. I think the different versions of the singles (mostly 7" mixes) which haven't been out on CD as yet are more useful in this set. This list is, of course less of a 'Retrospective' collection, - with discs one and two being more of an updated 'Substance', with the seven inch mixes (mainly). I think we'd have been happy with a set like this - although the bonus disc we're getting is a setp in the right direction.

I am glad you didn't put in the cool but ultra LAME Ode To Joy and Rocking Carol! People always want to have them included. Any record company who put those songs on a CD would cause me to take out my jig saw and carefully cut those to songs out of the CD so I could enjoy the rest without having to fast forward EVERY single I played it.

They could be included on a separate CD!

the Rarities disc should feature "Theme" (by NO as Be Music) and "Haystack" (by Kevin Hewick with NO), imho.
