ok, everyone on this site loves new order, and probably joy division, as well. but are they your absolute favourite band, or is there...ANOTHER? perhaps you love new order but have a really soft spot for neil sedaka?

Note that New Order's new material has been superior to the other bands, so right now they are at #1. (IMHO of course)
I love so many other bands, but no one can even come close to New Order. There's just something about that band...

What's up with everyone and the Cure? But why am I saying that. I do like Wrong Number. Most of my friends would probably laugh if they ever listened to the Cure. But then again, all they do is sit around and talk about Pink or Michael Jackson or something. It's sickening, those preppies. I personally love the Smiths. Johnny Marr is such a hottie and so talented. And are we talking about just bands here? If not, I think Angelo Badalamenti is a fantastic composer. And I'm not talking about fancy orchestrated music.
New Order defo favourite.
But prefer the likes of ACR or even Orbital or the Mondays (between about 87 and 89) over Joy Division.

Okay, so yes, they are my faves, have been for about 18 years now...I listen to them every day...some of my friends say I'm obsessed...I just say I'm very passionate about the order...
joy division are okay, but as I said in another thread, I don't much think I'd have ever picked up on JD if not for NO...
too bad the rest of the world really has no idea...but then again, if they ever made it really really big, like say oh, Nirvana...or Shaniah Twain...would they still be making music???
And to all those who have replied otherwise, we have laws in this country about bigamy, you know?
Yes, Joy Division and New Order are my favourite.
Next on the list would have to be REM, I have a big collection but no-where near complete and I don't feel the need for it to be so, unlike NO/JD.

NO and JD without a doubt. REM not far behind (JD are one of Michael Stipe's favourite bands). Must confess that Nirvana had a big effect on me, I was quite upset when Kurt pulled the trigger.
Everything else I listen to depends on the mood I'm in, but JD and NO are much like Jello, there's always room for them no matter how you're feeling. That's why they are at the top of my list.

There are zillions of others (cure and massive attack probably come second, oh and I really like Everything But the Girl once they went 'dance' and stopped all that jazz-folk nonsense) but nothing in this world can touch new order.
