4:45, you mentioned in the other thread that Hooky has a ton of live recordings, but do you know how much JD stuff he has? I've always thought the JD-side of Hooky's collection has been mythologised somewhat, since on Heart&Soul for the live disc they used all audience recordings (apart from Autosuggestion) that had been circulating amongst traders for years. Also, the 2 official JD live NMC releases were all similarly widely available. I guess in those days they didn't really have enough financial backing to record every show at the mixing desk (like with most NO gigs), but has Hooky actually got any stuff that, for want of a better expression, would make us cream our pants?

Cheers

I think the basic answer to the final part of your question is yes.

I know that alot of effort went into finding the best quality sources for the Paris gig that was released last year - to the point where an individual was contacted on spec following a rumour that she had an original from the station broadcast - this was in fact used in the end.

Hooky has talked on many occasions about the tapes he has but what actually exists is the real question. If he had such an amazing collection then I doubt whether Alex S. would have been involved in creating the "RETRO" live disc.

I do know for sure that there is alot of "home" video footage that was shot by Stephen and more recently, Hookys mate Ken - in fact I filmed the second night at the Barrowland for him myself. I didn't get a copy before anyone asks...

I'm sure many of you have the black & white video from an early 80's gig in Australia - that was shot on Stephens camera!
