If management knows we exist and even take a little of what we ask for at heart, then we should petition for some new additions to the set list...a total revamp would be nice...Ditching BLT, True Faith, Blue Monday, Touched and REGRET! in favor of other tunes.....if TPK is too much to ask for then what about the other master werks on Low-Life? Sunrise would be massive as would Sooner Than You Think, This Time of Night and Sub Culture. Wouldn't they have more fun playing songs that obviously bore them?

Great article btw.

Didn't see Al's original message in time to buy a copy of this but just received it in the post from my Dad. Retired teacher so obviously a Gruniad reader.

Anyways, he writes.....

'Dear Mark,

Here are your two articles - one about New Order, one about Leeds Utd, neither make pleasant reading. New Order have been drug addicts and done other undesirable things. Does this inpire their music?

Dad'

How should I respond??

So I am new to all this but I am absolutely staggered by the depth and breadth of the knowledge of some of you stars out there. That Benny Cobwebby character has simply amazed me.I've mentioned that here cos he's not on this thread....yet.

So 2 Scousers did come round our house last Friday and one casually mentioned that he had a copy of said Grauniad article which lead on to a great NO discussion. He then announced that he worked with Tony Wilson for some time and didnt really think much of him. Is that surprising?

Already used in a NME or MM interview back in the 80's, if I remember correctly...

Spurs-Leeds report + review of Ell Tel's chances of remaining in gainful employment beyond xmas. Hope not, he's our very own xmas Turkey.

Should be around tomorrow, I'll spill some lager over your rarities if you like. You gonna show this time? or do I have to ask Nicos to change your name to Hughy Blow-Out

Totally agree - if you have seen New Order once in the last year you have seen them 100 times - the concerts are a bit predictable (as far as the music goes). No wonder Sumner and Hook jest with the crowd so often now, its their only form of enjoyment in the whole set!

PS. I also liked the Last of The Summer Wine comparison in the Guardian interview. Anyone know why they used a photo from last year?
