Did The Boo Radley's cover True Faith?

Is the song "Barney & Me" about Bernard Sumner?

sad fact: i've been reading the Ceremony digest archives and there are some hilarious rumors/myths being swapped...also saw the genesis point for the Anthology Compilation...

Boo Faith! Yeah - I have it - it's on a Peel Sessions compilation called Learning to Walk. The band are big New Order fans, their version is very guitary (unsurprisingly).

Barney and Me is NOT about Bernard at all but a song written by Martin Carr about his best mate Sice (the Boo radleys singer) His name for him was always Barney apparently. I really liked the Boo Radleys, (along with bands like Moose, Levitation and Spectrum - who come from not far from where i live) and I didn't even expect anyone here to even mention this now forgotten band! :)

On a slightly related note, Ride did a song called "BarneyS" as a tribute to New Order, and their favourite album Technique.

Actually, for a guitar band, Ride did a pretty good job of electronica every now and again, as their cover of The Model proves.

Yes - sadly the Boos split up in 1998 after their last album Kingsize failed to do very well at all. Dunno what any of them are doing now mind.....i havent come across any news of their new activities :(
