You have heard Jonathan Scott, the BBC Sessions are not copywrited to New Order, so basically, if we want to have them, we'll have to bug Strange Fruit record to release the 1998 and 2001 sessions (John Peel & Steve Lamacq)

What I suggest is to gather a petition, electronic one or something, to ask them to release it, maybe someone could start something at petitiononline.com I don't know...

It's a shame this is not on CD, we'd all buy it, their are losing money :D

Last time I talked to someone at Strange Fruit, it wasn't in their plans because of the Get Ready release, so now it's time to DO SOMETHING.

To be pedantic - the copywrite within the recordings will belong to the band but the recordings themselves belong to the BBC...blah, blah, blah...

signed sealed and delivered

BTW, spread the URL to any other site or in the usenet newsgroup, mailing list, whatever.

The more we get, the more they will decide to release it! at least I hope we still have a little power over the record companies.

Originally posted by almanso I signed it. but.... are these kind of petitions really useful?

It's worth a try, don't you think?

The more we are, the more they will consider it! If Strange Fruit get it, and the management get it, they might do something to fill the gap between Retro and the upcoming album...

And make fans very happy!

While you guys are at it, can you put in a request for the release of all 22 (soon to be 23) Peel sessions by The Fall. Much appreciated & cheers to Benny's Cobweb Eyes - the world needs more Abba fans ;)

Well, hopefully this works out. I've been craving those recordings for quite some time now, as I own the Peel sessions for many of my favorite bands. It would fit with my collection...

Seeing how Strange Fruit has been trying to sell the first two Peel sessions and the live 1987 concert for more than ten years now, I don't see why they wouldn't issue out these recordings.

Let's see... first the two Peel sessions (along with the JD ones) were sold in the grey cds seperately in the mid 80's. Then they sold them together in the early 90's. Then they also released the live 1987 album. Then the JD ones popped up again on the "Heart and Soul" box set. Then the JD Peel sessions were reissued early 2000. Then the NO ones. Then the live album popped up again. Then they combined the live album with the JD Peel sessions as a box set...

WHERE WILL IT END!!!

i read that Barney was really, really fucked up for the 1998 peel sessions...

if they won't put them out, just burn the mp3s then

I bet it was Julio, I know his handwriting.

The best comment of this petition: "I'll sign anything to shut my husband up!"

I had heard a few months ago that they were planning on releasing a BBC disk with all the sessions on it - but, I can't remember where that info came from.

Yes, but it turned out to be the Joy Division BBC and the New Order Glastonbury 1987 concer instead (Before & After was the title of that double CD album)

Done! and I shall circulate it amongst the, admittedly not too numerous or vocal members of the Spanish Order. Great idea pals!
