As promised, I have a 4 x CDR promo of "RETRO" (this will be autographed by the band too) for the reader who answers the following New Order question correctly;

What make of drum machine was used on the recorded (1983) version of "Blue Monday"?

Answers should be addressed to; snowblind@delorean.com

All answers to be received before midnight this coming Monday 25th November.

No multiple entries please; any thinly diguised duplicates or multiple mail from the same I.P. address wil NOT be considered. Each correct mail will be numbered then the winner chosen randomly.

Jonathan.

All of this information is duplicated over at www.worldinmotion.net

By way of an explanation; I was told at 8:55pm this evening that the promo could be signed by the band - AFTER the initial post went up.

When you say "make" do you mean specifically the NAME of make AND the NUMBER? e.g. ROLAND TR 303. (Just to avoid any confusion.) ?

You know, you might have to find a little to find this...! there are several ways to find out.

I am clueless in term of musical instruments but I managed to find it in 30 seconds... :D

Good luck!

BTW, for those wondering, I'm not advertising this one on the front page, so all the "regulars" have a fair chance to win...

Was it a Bontempi keyboard? one of those one's with the light up keys that teaches you how to play greensleeves? and sounds like it has a wasp trapped inside it?

well, unfortunately for me, I don't know what it is, and I'm just way too lazy to even try to find out what it was..

so I guess it's safe to say, I won't be winning this little nugget!!!

Since the competition is over...

Somebody asked the same question on this forum one month ago, nobody replied, but later he replied poiting a URL where the New Order equipment was listed.

I cut and pasted everything in the FAQ section.. so you can find easily the answer there.

Sorry - what I should have pointed out was that I have 2 days off at the start of any given week after working the weekend - oops!

Anyway, just started back so give me an hour and I'll sort out the winner...

...and the winner is;

Humberto Vadillo

who correctly pointed out that the drum machine on Blue Monday was mad ny OBERHEIM.

The bands press office are sending Andy Robinson the promo to be signed and then on to me for Huber.
