You know what do to...

I'm pretty sure Forbidden City will win this easily..

But my favorite has always been Freefall...

Having never heard this album (heathen !!) I've voted for One Day, simply because The Fall have a track with the same name that I quite like. Then again they've also got one called Interlude !

i don't like this album too much, a bit overproduced too me and the female backing vox on some tracks really do suck. But anyway, my vote goes to "how long".

hehehe...are Marco and I the same person?

I'm going to have to go back and check his vote in the ultimate poll (yes, I have learned how to spell now!)...

but we both voted for how long on this one, and Thieves on the Substance disc 1 question...

I can't vote on this - I looked this up again after Seb's How Long / Time Can Tell thread last week and nothing stands out to me. I just don't 'get' the 2nd or 3rd Electronic albums whatsoever. Strange that.

I voted for "For You"...

... and by the way, are the two guys in the For You video the same two from the Spooky vid? or am i just insane?

"look at the rain, look at it falling..." great chorus. and the song has no backing vocals, something I deslike on this particular record. I fell in love with Freefall the first time I listened to it even though I didn´t like RTP as a whole. a very "light" album in my opinion.

there's a video for this song?:eek3:

hmm....a very spotty record. but it's gotta to be forbidden city and tracks 4 and 6 (i swear, i cannot remember song titles for the life of me). very slick (almost too slick...) and those backing vocals have never been at their worst, except on track 6, i don't mind those.

"Forbidden City" hands down. Polished track, you can tell they put a lot of work in this one. This could pass as a New Order song. I've always like "If you've got love" because it was dancey. "Out of your league" is a pleasant surprise. "For You" is a gem. And of besides the last two tracks, "Visit Me" is underrated and just beautiful. This album, like I've said before, is class from top to bottom. :D

Obviously most voters here hasn't sat down and taken the time to obsorb the album. It's a kickass album and Visit Me is better than all the tracks on Get Ready sans Crystal(all IMHO)

Agreed there are one or two naff tracks on it, but on the whole I think it is quite a good recording. If I was going on holiday I would take Raise The Pressure before taking Republic. Also, having just listened to it this morning it appears to have stood the test of time! Out Of My League gets my vote.

Easy choice this one...FREEFALL! And I must say, I think 'Raise The Pressure' is a very pleasant album to absorb. Sure, it is a tad over-produced as a fellow contributor observed, but to me, this album filled a massive void at a time when we feared there may never be another New Order offering. I'd like Electronic to do something again one day, albeit not at NO's expense. DAVID ROWLANDS Sydney, Australia

 Same people featured in both vids, but yer still mad;)

Best song on this album is easily the majestic Forbidden City! although Second Nature runs it very closely. This album was definitely more dancey than it shoulda been, it was great to see Twisted Tenderness setting that record straight! Jarvo...TT is superb matey....gie it a chance again:thumb:

Freefall is a delightful song, it took some time for RTP to grow for me but overall there are some very well put songs, albeit "under rated tracks".

I have to disagree with the majority of you here. My favorite is Dark Angel. This song should have been released as a single. I love the melody and Barney's vocals on this one. I do agree, Denise Johnson was overused on the album, but she does a good job on Dark Angel.

DarkAngel...you hit it right on the head! I've always liked DarkAngel and you made a good point regarding Denise's performance on the track. Visit Me, Freefall, Only Time can tell, and New Religion are some of Electronic's best songs EVER!

at first i absolutely HATED this record, and refused to listen to it... now, years later i've learned to really finally like Dark Angel, a really nice timeless upbeat house/pop track. i've really started to like Raise the Pressure now, especially the first 7 tracks (track 4 and 8 still make me wince and press the skip button)... the Denise backing vocals actually work and fit and sound great, compared to the out of place sounding female vocals on New Order tracks... Barney should have finally got the female vocals out of his system with this record, but sadly no...

For You sounds too much like Barney trying to imitate a Smiths song but is okay overall, but tracks 4, 8, and 11 seem pretty unlistenable to me... but it seems like a lot of people do not like the faster tracks which they think have less to do with Marr (true or not), but i have really learned to enjoy the faster dance tracks... I think i finally understand what Barney was trying to do, but i still am embarrassed to be heard listening to RTP... at first, when i got RTP i thought "why the hell does he want to sound like the Morrisey and Erasure for!?!?!?"

and the cover is so cool, the contrasts between name, title, and art, with the organic green color.... but the awful juvenile liner notes, i though Barney was really burnt out after the years of drugs, totally lost in the haze....

'For you' for me. It's upbeat. It's splashy guitar from Johnny. It's nice vox by Bernie. Got some nice, energetic drumming. Although I think 'Raise the pressure' can't top 'Electronic' (but hey, what an album that is!), it's still very enjoyable. Their most 'Italian' dance-album for sure, very commercial with those female backing vocals too, but it still keeps my head swinging!

'How Long' is simply incredible

For You without a doubt, a true guitar pop song. A close second is Forbidden City and bronze goes to Out Of My League. For You is in my opinion the greatest of all Barney's "lost treasures".

Second Nature deserves another mention - great, catchy track, and by far the best performance of it has to be the Jools Holland one :thumb:
