For all you collecter freaks out there what items in your NewOrder collection remain shrinkwrapped and which you have no intention of ever ever opening??

Im pretty rubbish at keeping stuff and not playing it! but anyway my list is:

Band Interview Disc (cd) Hooky Picture Disc (7") Before&After Sessions (cd) Substance (tape) Best Of (import) Twisted Tenderness (i have a copy on minidisc so feel no great need to play the cd) PCL (cd)

ps: I highly doubt there is enough webspace on this site for you to list yours Rocket Mick if your reading this!

I'm not big into the "unopened" field of collecting. My logic for this is simple: Whenever the item in question is, say, a Star Wars action figure who you can clearly make out as being that figure (Boba Fett, Luke, etc), then you would want to leav it in its original wrapping. But when you're dealing with something mysterious, like a packet of baseball cards, it really does not good to leave it unopened because you don't know if Barry Bonds' rookie card might be in the mix, or just a whole pack of Moose Haas-es (Moose Haas was an obscure baseball player who my cousins and I use as the benchmark for mediocrity, FYI). At any rate, I'm usually too excited to have another NO item to leave it unopened.....

I'm collecting for myself, not for others.. so everything is opened and many were used when I bought them (well, I started in 1990, gimme a break!)

Not for me.. I know some people are buying a copy of each album released in each country, that's not my thing either.. my thing is to have every song and version, I also stopped buying vinyl a few years ago since I can't even listen to it (I have no plan to reinstall that ugly turn table I bought in 1998!! just to be able to rip many things into mp3!)

And *coughing*, I have no interest in signatures either, so I don't really collect authographs (sp?)...

I bought 2 of those stupid Limited Run Republic CD's (the ones celebrating the inflatable orange ring on the cover). One had blue printing, the other had silver. I thought one might actually be MORE limited than the other. A couple of years ago I finally opened up the silver one and inside of it was a lock of Barney's hair! Not really. I decided it wasn't worth keeping and traded it to a CD store towards some of those 2 disc PSB reissues.

That's the same here - just trying to get a copy of every track New Order have released (preferably on CD). Saying that, I've bought all the 12" and 7" singles, as they're nice and collectable for the artwork. I only have each of the albums on CD.

I just got hold of the Austrailian 'True Faith' remix, with that 'Paradise' remix that's going to be on 'Retro'. Rather good it is too...

I still have one "Get Ready" unopenend with that HMV-special-discography included. A second Monaco "I've got a feeling" Single-CD and a canadian "Fine Time" single-CD with "Fine Line".

Dont get me wrong, all of my "unopened" items exist in my collection in other formats, ie: tape/cd or minidisc thus I tend to stock my car up with CDR's and take out minidiscs on my travels.

So i certainly dont deny myself listening pleasure of anything I just have most things in my collection twice thats all!! :D

Well, I have a "Fractured Box" still sealed. I don't need to open it as I already own "Preston" and "Les Bains Douches". It's just a numbered box with these two CDs and I will wait 20 years to see if it's going to be as rare as "Sordide Sentimentale".

I have the promo "Extra Order" still sealed too (I already have the songs in MP3 format).
