Wow, just like I thought - either you started with JD (or early NO) or you discovered them when Pretty In Pink or True Faith hit the radio. Let's face it - every year goes by, some NO fans die, the fan base gets smaller...

People are BLOWN away that NIN would cover NO, pretty strange - teens almost don't feel lame listening to them once they know that.

Fuck me! The Apollo was mental......I had to feign injury to dive over the front barrier that night......and yes, I did the walk of shame.......all the way round the outside, straight to the bar, to get a cold pint of lager in for Temptation, then dived back into the melee fer the last few songs![]()
ShugZV 28 next Sunday, mental age of 6, drink capacity of a small third world country.
aye, a riot it was but I'm not cut out for the springsteen like length of the sets these days.Hate to admit it but had to bail out of the scrum mid set for a pint and a breather.Too old you see but refuse to give up the ghost.

33, Temptation drew me in more than Ceremony for some reason... plundered the back catalogue. Still remember to this day the moment I first heard UP - killer b-line opening - gets me every time. Found nool message board after heartwarming emails from Mr Jarvis/Mr Trowell in response to some ramblings I left lying around somewhere.
34 and new order fan since 1985! never saw jd live! first gig was 1987 in dusseldorf, germany!
Hmm, "Less than 20 years old" is the second smallest demographic. That seems to reflect the frustration of being in high school, at time when most young people are very excited about music, and none of your friends have ever heard of any of the bands you like.
I have a friend who, at a party, thought the name "Joy Division" sounded cool so she pretended to know who they were. I said, "I bought a New Order CD today. They used to be Joy Division, you know". She replies, "Oh, Joy Division. I remember them back in the day". (This coming from a person who claims to have "all over the map" music taste which includes the likes of Bloodhound Gang, Incubus, and God knows what else. No offence to any of their fans here). Seeing as we were only born in 1985 I don't know how to expose my friend to the embarrassment that she doesn't know what the hell she's talking about at her own party. "Um, they broke up in 1980," I tell her, skipping the story of the death of JD in the name of simplicity. "Oh, well, my mom used to listen to them," she said quickly. Right. Well...
I have managed to get some of my friends (the abovementioned one not included) to like JD, at least. :)
I'm 36 but I've always looked young for my age. Even when I was only one year old people said I didn't look a day over zero.
I'm nearly 27 and been a fan for just over 10 years. I'd heard True faith, BLT, BM and Shellshock back in the 80's but didn't realise they were sung by the same group until I heard Substance being played in a music store. The rest is history.
A fan after the True Faith single I Borrowed from my friend. I still have it and listen to it al the time.27yrs old.

HAYDUKE LIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i've been a fan starting in 1983, and 'blue monday'..
stopped listening to them after 'touched by the hand of God'... or should i say i collected their stuff..but didn't listen to it..
pretty much gave up on them from 1991-2002...but i did hear 'electronic', 'revenge', 'other two', and 'monaco'..
and started listening to their old stuff again in 2003..

Horrified to realize I just turned 28. I keep wondering where 22-27 went, all the rest of the years are accounted for, but those one's vanished like a wallet slipping out of a shallow pocket at a movie theatre. :(
Looks like I've voted but not posted!
I'm 20, and have liked True Faith since around 1996ish, then got Substance in 1999, then Get Ready....diehard fan ever since :D
Dear Sir,
I am over 3000 years old and would like to see any scene with two people having sex.

43, sorry I can't beat you :-). Looong way back I bought PCL; still remember the exact place where. Since a few months started to play old (yes they are; and I still play vinyl) records again. Watched the 3 16 and 5 11 dvd's and play their music everyday again. Something hasn't changed.
Thanks for the effort Positone. Nice try. Are you sure there are not a few lost years you've forgotten about? Well this is an honour I must say. Still to be the oldest on this site. Should I not have some form of honour bestowed upon me?
