I just got the cd in the mail today. I can't believe they put that stupid cover that the other site had. But once I got past that, the cd was pretty good. Only the Arthur Baker 2002 mix was boring and I must say stupid. The other mixes were pretty good. I really like the Electroclash mix the best and the Outputs mix was great as well. I say its worth the money, even if Arther Baker isnt.

Not a lot of responses here. Does anyone have them? Are there 3, 12" releases? I have 2. I thought there were due to be mixes by Junior Sanchez.

There are 2 12"s & also a CD with all 5 tracks that appear across the 2 vinyl pieces.
Just got the Austin Leeds & Sound Ritual Vs New Order, 'Total Confusion 2002' on vinyl. There have only been 500 of these knocked up but http://www.htfr.com have got some in stock.
Haven't heard any of them yet (except for the soundbits in the media archives). my order at Amazon.de is still on hold ![]()
Got my copy today. Well, despite the fact that i'm not a real remix-fan, this CD is okay. My favourite's the "Koma and Bones"-remix. The Arthur Baker-version is boring and uninspired, the rest is nice but not essential. ![]()
How about a category for "can't be arsed to buy it or even listen to it - it was uninspiring back in 83, we've had to endure far too many live renditions of what was never a good song, and no amount of remixing will ever make it worth spending money on" ?
That's got my vote !

...but the artwork rules!
Have to say I would have agreed wholeheartedly with Benny about Confusion, having only really heard the 87 Substance version before. However, I did purchase this very CD last week & after a week of having it in the car & not bothering with it, I came back to it on Monday & was, well, very impressed with track4 (Junior Sanchez version, I think.)
There you go, you CAN be surprised by what you find if you take a chance on it ... :)

I just got mine in the mail yesterday.
The Electroclash version is FANTASTIC!!! I can't believe how good this is!!! The 17 seconds starting at about 2:40 is orgasmic! This is on a par with the Housecat remix of HTS, in my opinion.
Got mine in the mail today. The jewel box was in pieces, but the CD is OK. I just listened to it once, and I must say that my favourites mixes, for now, are the Koma & Bones mix and the Arthur Baker mix. But I need to listen to the CD a few more times before I can definitely vote.

pah, just because the chanting bit doesn't go 'ra tee ta ta ta tee ta tah hey - uh'
I'm really surprised there's not been more response to this. All the versions are pretty good, but once again, the Electroclash version is OUTSTANDING!!!!!
...no, not the only one. despite the fact that i don't like "Confusion" as a song at all, i sometimes find myself listening to the "Koma & Bones"-mix ![]()
Yes, as I have mentioned somewhere before that I thought the Larry Tee's Electroclash version is the BEST!!! Hace only heard the edit version on CD...yet to play my 12" vinyl which has the full version....but it's really good to heard those early synths again....
Anyone tried FISCHERSPOONER yet?...They are great, very much in the same veins of Electroclash...just like LADYTRON...
I'm so excited retro sound is back again...
Went with the Outputs nu-rocktro version, as I could only find one of the 12" this last weekend. Also liked the Asto Dazed mix as well, but I was caught off guard as the first side plays at 33 rpm, and the second at 45. Played at the slower speed, the first time I listened to it, it didn't sound so good
Looks like I need to keep an eye out for the CD for the Electroclash version. And yes, I still can't believe they used that photo on the sleeve.

Speaking of the photo, two of the five I'm not sure I can identify.
And once again, the Electroclash version is GREAT!!!

I'd be interested to hear how the longer Electroclash version compares with the edit on the CD. The CD version seems just about perfect, but it is very short.

Assuming that it's the photo with Barney in the middle with the , er, nice sweater, I'm sure that's Arthur Baker on the far left, with Rob Gretton between him and Barney.

And is that really PH on the far right?
From the left : Arthur Baker, Rob gretton, Barney, Steve, Hooky.
Why is it so hard to belive that it's Hooky ?

It just doesn't really look like any other picture I have seen of him. The shape of his nose, for example, looks quite different to me from say the Low Life photo. Also the smile is something I don't know I've ever seen elsewhere.
It finally appeared in my letterbox yesterday. After the most perfunctory of hearings: Koma's is quite good. Baker's redundant and Electroclash's very promising. I think it's gonna grow on me after some more hearings. The other two pretty average.

Actually, I think the last three are all much better than the first two.
