Answering No would mean to create a forum specifically for polls.
Personnaly, I think polls are a great addition (otherwise, I wouldn't have spent time doing it!) and I think they should stay, because it gives the opportunity to the silent lurkers to give their opinion, plus it starts good debates, and instead of asking people to tell "which song they prefer", they simply vote and comment their vote if they want.
But I will respect the majority...
Yes. After the initial overkill, they've calmed down a bit. More people are explaining their choices in the thread rather than just voting in silence, and it is provoking some interesting debate, which is what these boards are all about.
Im proud to be a silent lurker! you wouldnt understand how compulsive it is to read all the little discussions, i have learnt so much about new order, from only liking joy division, im now in2 them as well....one day i will understand what your all going on about!

keep 'em in. they remind me of the slam books from junior high. (boys, if you don't know what these are, ask a nearby female...well, maybe it was an american girl thing, dunno.)
if you think of it polls are topics in the end. they´re meant to express your opinion with a vote but also lets you express yourself with your comments. so for me polls ARE the same thing as topics.
Have to admit that having lurked here for years, it was thru contributing to polls that I was tempted to actually chip in to the forums proper. May be true for others too. :)

Keep them Nick, sometimes you read a thread and someone has said exactly what you wanted to say. With polls you can still add your vote without having to add a redundant post.
