I love this record. I don't have any problems with it, and think it's essential in the catalog.

This was a difficult poll to vote in. I enjoy all of the songs on Movement, especially since you can sense the tension and struggle going on with the band as they try to find a direction. A very courageous and emotional album. I finaly had to choose ICB as my least favorite, mainly because it moves me the least. But it is by no means a 'bad' song, just flat.

Very true about the SO36 show. I watched it on video the other night and was surprised how much more confident the band appeared to be with the songs, considering it was months earlier than the Taras gig.

This poll totally misses the point, cause there isn't a bloody single bad track on this album! Last night I went back to it again, and it surpised me: even after all those bleedin' years I'm still awestruck by its impact...

A truly under-rated album but if you take it in context you can see developments starting to happen.

E.g. their first use of drum machines (Truth), Hooky singing (Dreams Never End/Doubts Even Here) heck even Gillian singing (well, talking), Gillian playing guitar (Truth - okay, she had done Ceremony by then).

The band continued to play this material live well into 1983 (with Doubts Eve Here being the notable exception) and, as far as Denial and Dreams went, even as late as 1985 in the case of the former and 1987 in the latter.

It's definitely a "snapshot" album, and sounds entirely miserable. However if you watch the Taras video and then listen to Movement straight after it throws a whole new light on the album.

Only one duffer in my opinion - ICB : I've just never ever liked this song. Dunno why...

The Him is a pretty weak one. Doubts Even Here, Truth, and Chosen Time are great, though.

They are human, they have the right to not be perfect, it was just the beginning. And Dreams Never End is perfect !!

err c'mon guys Movement is just that a "Movement" I first heard it back in 82-83 and loved the sound (what else was out there?)

Hey. Come on now. Doubts Even Here is the best New Order track (in my opinion, so don't comment on how it isn't). And The Him sounds amazing with updated equip. The only song I can't get into every time is Senses. But hey. Movement is my favorite NO/JD album. A perfect start to an amazing career.
