Ermm, dont get me wrong Retro is great and im pleased with it (especially the bonus cd ;) ) but its not what i'd class a "Box Set" really now is it...

Its more like 4 cds slotted into a cardboard sleeve!!!

Its just I expected the packaging to be something a bit more substantial, you know hard plastic would have been nice!!

Sorry to moan on such a big release day but c'mon it had to be said!

Yeah, i was a little dissapointed. Mine is falling to bits already and i've only had it 20 minutes.

So it's the same design as the Heart and Soul set, isn't it? I hate the lousy "stick the cds on the sleeve, no individual cases" design of that one, I'm constantly worrying that one of the cd holders will come unglued and wreak havoc. Damn cheap bastards......

Which is exactly what happened to my 1963 box set... the same thing unglued!!

Worst, one part of the "1963" is torn (?) because it was the last CD on a stack

Ah well.. at least I have the CD.

Did anyone REALLY put both CDs in the 1993->1995 digipak anyways? waste of space for nothing, nobody will leave a sleeve alone with no CD ;)

I admit i did think about it but then there would be nowhere for the cardboard insert in the digipacks to go for the second CD's so didnt bother in the end!!

That 1963 box was the most ridiculous CD packaging I ever saw.

Yeah my 1963 box is knackered also ! Glue came unstuck from day one. Also had nasty price ticket which when I peeled it off it ripped the front of the cardboard box. Don't you just hate it when that happens !!

Has anyone actually got a mint 1963 box?

Yeah, I have a mint [condition] 1963 box thanks. :) But my signed Run2 12" sleeve fell apart after 2 minutes... :(

My 1963 box is in mint condition as well.

But I've always took good care of my things.

And I think the design of that package is nifty, although the quality could have been better... the blue metallic thingy inside doesn't hold in place!!!

well i put my 2 disc sets together & then put the cardboard ones into the other cd case. dont know why. always cathches me out when try to find them. my 1963 also pristine, kept my heart & soul nice by getting a seperate case for the cds so dont go opening & closing it all the time. will do same with retro.

I really hate all this poncy packaging. It means you either treat it with kid gloves to keep it immaculate - which makes you feel like some kind of weird fetishist - or you have to watch it completely fall apart. I prefer it when cds come packaged in standard interchangable jewel cases that you don't have to worry about.

I totally agree! I don't care about the packages. I care about the music.

Now the Jam's Boxed set was pretty good packaging wise........
