Ok here we go, if you'd be interested in a New Order Onliner get together in North America, sign up here so that an ideal location may be determined.

As for me, I am in Grand Rapids, Michigan

So that's everyone then? I'll meet you in Boston then Wen.

new york city

Montréal, province of Québec, Canada..

8-10 hours drive from New York City, 5-6 hours from Boston, and 5 hours from Toronto.

Best city in Canada :thumb:, everything closes at 3 AM but there are after hours.. canadian dollar, so CHEAP CHEAP and CHEAP.

Just don't come here in winter...!

Should we plan on a spring then?

I've heard that toronto is the place to go in canada? I've been wanting to visit that city for some time now.

Not really...

I've been there 3 times, mostly for concerts, and well, maybe it's because I'm from Montréal, but it seems this city is boring :)

No offense to anyone, there will always be a Montréal vs Toronto debate everywhere you go.. but the only good moment of my life in Toronto was New Order's show in 1993 :thumb:

Otherwise, once you have seen the CN Tower and the Hockey Hall of Fame..

Well, I can't say really, I live in Montréal, so it's obvious I'll tell you that this IS the city to visit in Canada..! We're latin, women are beautiful, and you feel like being in Europe since 80% of the people speaks french, and the old city is like an European town...

Anyone up in toronto or montreal know of any venues we can contact to set up this event?

the hockey hall of fame! we can see who on NOOL has the most accurate wrist shot!!!!,lol thats basically the reason i went to toronto, i didnt see too much of the nightlife so i cant say either way i was only there for a day and a half

I say we all head over to Taboo # 7's house. We can chill with his grandparents.

NO! Then you'll see my prono stash! :evil4:

I'd like New York City as a meet-up place, but Toronto's cool as well. Definitely Springtime (for Hitler and Germany....sorry, just thinking of The Producers)

hmm, well it seems some of our British friends will be in Seattle for this soccer thingy..... at least they'll already be there, and they are traveling the farthest.... if not seattle, my vote is for toronto, just the fact that its us there and we will be having a killer NOOL party, i dont care if the city IS boring....we'll rock the shack baby! :rolling:

Toronto is drivable for me, let's hook it up :D

Toronto

Just becuase it will require me to give the lest amount of effort to get to.

My vote goes to Montreal, go figure... But anything driveable could be great :) And yes,Montreal really is a party town

You really all should've got together for the Area:One stuff last year!

Then the Order might've believed there's enough interest Stateside to warrant a return trip!

Forgive us.....we're bastards....

hey seriously though, if theres enough interest for this, i guess my vote would be for somewhere in Canada. Maybe the NOOL's who are going to Seattle in July can make a stop in Canada on their way back eastward.....we could make this around the same time as their trip. July seems a great time to me, plus I use all my vacation time in the summer anyways. if this gets to be more definite, maybe in the next few months some of us could make arrangements to get a suite or large room together, lest we who are not so wealthy could save some dough! :rolling: I like this idea....i hope we dont forget about it!

ShugZV Corby Northants clocking in.......Definitely up fer the craic, I suppose it'll depend on money fer me and Donovan, but if you's sort something out, we'll do our best to make it:nod:

I hope we don't forget about this idea either. This is something I've thought about doing for some time now. If we do go forward with this, where do we start with organizing this?

Shug, when exactly is your trip over here and for how long? I dont see how anyone could mind planning it around your travel time, especially since youd be travelling the farthest. July would be cool with me.

I would say a city that someone lives in wouldnt be bad, that way we would have someone to show us around. But more importantly someone who could get us the venue, arrange a dj, etc. Biznotic did say he had connections in Seattle, and Shug is headed there for the football tourney, hence the original idea of Seattle.....

Seattle would definitely make sense...the UK bunch will be here, the Cali crew would have a short jump and the rest of you can see what you're missing by living in places like Grand Rapids and Dallas! Our country is too fucking big to truly organize an event like this...i took a train from london to edinborugh that lasted 12hrs...nearly end to end of the UK ...a similar 12hr ride on Amtrak (if i survived) would only get me to Denver...i must point out that for this and other reasons AMERICA SUCKS.

Getting a club lined up for a NewOrder party would be simple for me to do. I have friends in low places. Vancouver is another beautiful city not far from here. Lots of advantages to Vancouver...but not all can be openly discussed.

It seems like two seperate get togethers may need to happen. Perhaps we should even extend this invite to the users at Worldinmotion...after all, we are in this together right? A neworder fan is a friend of mine regardless of where his/her browser is pointed.

Seattle gets my vote...

Is there anyway Nick or Sebastien could keep it at the top of the list so that it doesn't get lost among new posts?

The first match of the 4 team tournament is Celtic Vs Man Utd, played in Seattle on the 22nd of July, we haven't sorted out travel plans yet, but hopefully we'll have enough money to last two weeks in your fair land, probably arrining July 20 or 21:thumb: Definitely gonna go New York, and would love to visit some Irish relations in Boston:D  Gotta go....finish work in 5 mins.

If we were to organize something in the baltimore/washington area, I can definatly secure a venue. But it seems that toronto, montreal or seattle are the top choices, It looks like Biznotic has seattle covered if we went there, but if we do it in one of the other two cities, we need someone here to help us out and suggest a venue.

I don't know if I'd be able to attend if it was in Seattle. What would the airfare be? Seems like it would be expensive, for me anyways.

I don't know about summer, I get about a week off in mid-June if I go through with getting my required courses out of the way in order to transfer to a bigger university. I might could make it to something in early August....oh well, I'll worry about it when I get to that point. :)

round trips from Chicago usually go for $200. I got round trip to neworleans from Seattle for 250. Use priceline.com or look in your local paper for people selling vouchers...

tickets from the Detroit/chicago area can even be found for under 200 if you keep your eyes peeled and book early...

I'm getting married in june, so basically, it would be very hard for me to attend if near June

Well, a trip to Vancouver is as long as a trip to Paris.. and believe me, I'd rather go to Paris

Probably the best pick would be Toronto since it's in the middle (near Chicago, well, near is a big word)...

What we should do is get 50$ each and pay New Order to do a private gig for us, then everybody would come :D

NO at our NOOL party? that would be great wouldn't it?

Congrats on your wedding. :)

How about NO playing at your wedding, Spotty?

damn, i'm all the way down here in florida...but i could make it up nawth in the spring sometime, perhaps. NYC would be my top choice, since that's where all of my good friends in the US are and i'd love to swing by and visit them.

having said that, i've never been to eastern canada before, only BC....

Hummm... well, problem is, as much as I would love that, there will be lots of french cheesy music played.....!!!

But, I wonder if they would do a special fan concert if everyone was willing to book them at a specific date...

"Fans only" concert.. No Blue Monday and other stuff they don't want to play

and who says we don't want to hear Blue Monday???

Las Vegas!!! Lots to do, and you can drink in the streets!

I do! Well, actually I like BM 88. I can handle that version quite a bit. The original is a little too dated for me. I like the '88 addtions.

Another vote for Boston.

okay kids...I'm interested...but I have to be in Seattle in late July for the Man U-Celtic match...so if we are going to do something besides this, we need to figure it out soon, so I can get my vacation request in...

Vegas does sound like a pretty cool place to do it...

but I'm up for just about anything...

sentimental vote goes for Montreal...so we can all meet up with Nicos and Sebsy...

actually, Greyhound is offering tickes for 15bucks now. Not bad but you need headphones and a good book (or lots of valium) for a cross country trip on the DOG of US transportation.

Cheers me ole muckerado  It's just to give us an idea of how much money we're gonna need, cos we'll definitely be taking in Seattle and NY, hopefully Boston and a few others as well, I suppose it all depends on wherever people arrange to meet up for this drinking session:nod:

No prob Shug. I actually used to work for Travelocity. If you have a slow pc, you can call them and they will now plan out your entire itinerary for you over the phone, just make sure you know when you want to fly and be prepared to buy the tickets when you call so you can get whatever rates they quote you!

Again, thanks fer the info, I'll get Donnie to sort that out:lol: I'm still waiting for the dates of the Celtic games, hopefully they correspond with United's dates! I'll post them on here just after New Year, then we'll decide where we're gonna go:thumb:
