Just been listening to Retro Disc 1 pretty loud.

I'm almost embarrassed to say that I actually started to like Slow Jam for about 4 minutes.

You foolish people, sitting there, in your chairs, hating Slow Jam. A few years in the army, that's what'd sort you lot out.

Just think, you have enough beers and you might like the song for 5 minutes.

Got to agree with you mate, Slow Jam is actually one hell of a track but i wouldn't have said that before Retro. Can't believe that i slagged off Get Ready when it first came out. It just gets better everytime i hear it.

Yeah, the Slow Jam clubhouse is about as full as the Hacienda when they started out. :D (read Mick Middles' book if you don't get it)

Apart from the *admittedly* bizarre lyrics (I guess Barney's singing about his Conservative leanings or beer) this song "rocks the shack" and features some nice instrumental work. I'm a fan

I never payed much attention to the lyrics of Slow Jam (French being my mother tongue, I need to make some effort to really listen to and understand English lyrics), but I like this song... enough to have put the longer demo version of it on my enhanced CDR of Getting Things Ready Steady.

Same here...

This would also explain why I don't think Such A Good Thing is a bad song

I have to admit that as I hadn't bought the re-release of World in Motion, I'd never heard Such A Good Thing until Retro arrived. While it's not classic New Order, it's certainly not as bad as people have been making out. Thumbs up from me.

I hate this song, because even though I don't pay attention to the lyrics, I can't avoid hearing the "putting on my good shoes, stepping on the grass" lines which are utter ridiculous.
