Does anyone here like Depeche Mode?

Jennifer Lopez is hot, but she's just so overrated in the States now (I really abhor the fact that she would rather be called "J-Lo". Especially since she has written maybe 1% of the music/material that she has released as an artist!).

Benny! Thanks for those Lysette photos, mate! :)

You guys who slag off DM remind me of NME journalists who seem to believe everyone has to have this indie-cred thing going otherwise your uncool and obviously have no talent.

Anyway as you can see from my pic(Alan Wilder, the man)

I mean heaven forbid anyone to have any ambition to do large shows and worry about image.

New Order are great at what they do, it happens to be very different to how Depeche Mode go about doing things. Both are great, both are 2 of my fave groups. And this doesn't mean I don't 'get it' or whatever the hell that means. New Order are a band in the traditional sense, whereas Depeche Mode are more methodical in their approach. End of the day both work in vastly different ways.

Try going to the Depeche Mode forum, where you will see silly ignorant views of New Order(ie. barney cant sing, not polished enough). See its cos they are very different that fans of both bands dont get the other.

cheers ALEX

TOTALLY gratuitous! Who cares for that colombian bimbo?

Now, J-LO, that's hot!

F'k off J-LO's an overrated arrogant slut!!!!!

Wow, I never thought that DM fans and NO fans were butting heads per se. I guess it's possible. If you look at those bands from a musical standpoint, however, you can see how equally important they are/were to British music. What I find even more interesting is that you don't find very many American bands that come close to the caliber and success of both NO and DM. Frankly, there aren't a lot of American bands out there lately that have inspired me with their music the same way that Depeche Mode or New Order have.

Everyone's got their own sense of taste, so I say let bygones be bygones...You say tomaTOE, I say tomaTO - it's still the same focking vegetable. :p

But DM have never been as successful over here as they are in other countries - they sold their soul to Uncle Sam at a very early age, and while they may be treated as deities by certain people away from Britain, they are no more than just another band in the UK.

Hmmm...well again, as I don't live in the UK, I'm not seeing the same stuff as you...but I would believe it. :)

And their fanbase is pretty big in the States...and now Dave Gahan and Martin Gore live in the US as well...

Their music is still considered pretty original in comparison to other electronic bands...and I hate to say it, they've probably had more airplay on the radiowaves than our beloved New Order... :(

Sure, in the US they're bound to have more airplay. They very successfully conquered the US market, and fair play to them, they're good at what they do. You'll go a month without hearing any of their stuff in the UK though.

Sadly, it's that way for New Order in the states. There are people here who think that bloody ORGY originally wrote Blue Monday! :(
