I got mine Saturday. Glad you got your's OK. Was it worth the wait? Are you happier or more disappointed than you thought you would be? The record store in Grand Rapids paid $45.00 US for each of their UK import copies. It was pretty funny to tell them mine cost $39 US shipped.
There is no mail delivery on week-ends in Canada (though they pick it up on saturdays), so I got it today.
Package is OK for a thing that spent the whole day at -5 degrees Celcius ![]()
I'm listening to the bonus disc and reading the booklet right now, and well, is it worth it? I didn't buy International because I tought it wasn't worth it, so my answer is there.. I would have waited a few weeks before buying it if the bonus CD wasn't in there.. but yes, I think it's nicely done and enjoyable..
Hurray to my 2nd ever box set :D (the other being Heart & Soul)

Funny when you think about it.. they could have bought them from HMV for a cheaper price.. and I expect Imports to cost up to 80$ CDN at HMV here (if they get any!)..
Do I like the web or what ![]()

Oh Yeah, the global marketplace rules.
not sure about the exchange rate but mine was delivered for 17.49 UK sterling. I'm pretty sure that's LESS than 30 US dollars.
no need to ever go into a record store and deal with the morons that work there...

Wow - that would be about $26 US - that rules. Around here, the set will be at least $55 US. This record store is the best though, no morons here. They had a whole bunch of the Heart and Soul boxes they sold for $25 US each.
Won't know if I get mine until Dec. 25th ![]()
9 days is far, far too long

good thing because there aren't that many reasons to buy it....i probably will never listen to discs 1 & 2 (already have both Tempt. & Confusion originals on CD)
Disc 3 is bullshit...Shellshock? that mix of BLT? the original EGG?...an edit of the Sabres mix...UGH!!!
by the way, where did your set come from?
mine is postmarked from Brussels (with love!)

Got it today. Mine wasn't sealed either and the jewel case is completely destroyed. Retro has a bent corner.

Bruxelles as well...
Disc 3 total crap? bah.. I'm happy to have the Paradise Mix on this CD, the Confusion remix (though I bought the single) and the Sabres mix which I didn't have.. alright it's edited, but it's better than nothing...
For people who don't have the singles, it's useful...
yeah, the club disc is decent but in my world the glass is always half empty...
it seems like a missed opportunity to me...the Round & Round extended mix is awesome and i could go on listing better mixes than those chosen...but my opinion tends to be the least popular opinion around...

They had a whole bunch of the Heart and Soul boxes they sold for $25 US each. I remember I bought my Heart and Soul box set for $30 US about two years after it's UK release. I didn't import it, it was just at a random record store that I went to. Then when it finally came out in US, they were selling it for $60. I scored a copy of Retro for $17 UK as well.

It's possible, but since my parents are getting it for me as my present, they wouldn't tell me if it came in....so I'll keep the faith :)
My major complaint about Retro is that they could have packed the bonus CD with a few more tracks. It's only 55 minutes long. Also, why are "Let's Go" and the mix of "true Faith" edited? Surely it would have fit. I know that they threw the bonus CD together at the last second, but usaully extra work goes into editing songs.
Other than that, I like the box set. The second disc hasn't been played yet, but the first one works as a better 'best of' than "International". I like the club disc, and the live disc is great as well.

That's brilliant because I arrived home yesterday night to a note from the Post Office saying that there was a delivery for me from Belgique. That means my copy of RETRO has finally arrived and I will pick it up today.
And eventually I shall receive also the signed copy from Jonathan. Happy Tuesdays!

That's crazy! I live in Brussels, I ordered my copy of Retro from HMV.co.uk as you all did, and it came from the UK! ![]()
International orders departed from Bruxelles.. (oh sorry, Brussels in english) but I admit, it's stupid your copy came from the UK ;)
But you got it one week earlier...! so probably the same time people in Bruxelles got it ![]()

I don't think it's that simple, mine came from England. Is there a different procedure at hmv.co.uk when you choose a courier instead of regular postal service?

YAY!!!!
...got mine 2 days ago....got a bit worried over the weekend when I read that fellow NOOL and Sydney resident, Murv Hughes had his last wednesday......
I thought the booklet was an interesting read....felt like you are almost having a conversation with them....
TPK video version could've been a bit louder or maybe clearer recording...but I supposed it's a live recording....so, who's the chap yelling 'It's Amazing...' at the end?..Rob?
Got mine today, a day later then Nic, (Mine had to cross Canada) Anyways If anybody here does not get the bonus disc, then they are doing something wrong!
Anyways from what I herd I liked. It will be a few more days until I listen to disc 1 & 2 but the bonus CD and the live cd are totally worth it. Fine time live being my favorite so far.
Still waiting on my shit (from HMV.uk) but it will be out in shops here in Japan tomorrow, albiet minus the bonus disc. So I'm waiting on my bonus-disc-a-fied version to come in the mail...fingers crossed!
Got it yesterday! Bonus disc is excellent. Elegia' seventeen minutes of sheer glory. How can this song be in the worst song poll? Then LIVE which is by itself worth the expenditure. then FAN to say hello to a couple of old friends which were not getting enough exposure.
What a beautiful song PROCESSION is btw.!!!
Then DISCO for a quickie with 1963 and Fine Time Silk Remix.
I know now what RETRO is about, it is a weekend away with your live-in girlfriend.
Quality time with the ORDER.
There is no end to this! ![]()

You think Murv really lives in Sydney ?
The TPK talking at the end is Jonathan Demme, the video producer. You can hear Hooky ask him if it's canned or something, referring to him by name.
