Besides his basses, I mean. What does he do to produce his signature sound?

Thanks in advance...

old days - Electra copy of a Rickenbacker bass, Marshall or Hiwatt heads plus an Alembic preamp into a solid state power amp, some kind of chorus pedal and Marshall, Vox and Hiwatt cabinets with 12" and 15" speakers early NO - Yamaha 4 string and Shergold 4 and 6 string basses, I don't know about the amps or effects unfortunately later NO - he has a custom made hollowbody 4 string similar to a Guild Starfire with humbuckers that he uses a lot, still not sure about the rest of his rig but it's probably hi powered rackmount solid state amplification

The headstock looks more like the Guild, but they are pretty much the same design (Guild/Gibson). It surprised me when I first saw him with that bass because I never thought of him as a guy that would get into a hollowbody as far as his bass sound, and I would have thought feedback would have been a problem for him playing live. Apparently not. He probably wanted it hollow (or semihollow) mainly for the lighter weight, I would think.

well the electronics are all custom as well if i am not mistaken the pickups(a humbucker and a p-style pick up) , have a built in EQ, and im sure he uses some sort of noise compressor, the hollow body i think he got because of the tones you can get from them eccles hall has a website i cant remebr what it is though, i know that i enquired about getting one and it cost 1,500.00 pounds plus another 150.00 for the upgraded pickups and 200.00 more for a case all custom built and it takes 10 months for them to build it!!! plus i think they are more money if you want a color other than black
