Yes indeed, it was a glorious afternoon at Goodison on Saturday and would you Adam n' Eve it, the Muff man could'nt make it. When I heard the result I did'nt know whether to laugh or cry so I just wondered around in a daze with a stupid grin on my ugly mug! He'd last 2 mins in the 3rd - get kicked all over the park by every 18 year old wanting to make a name for himself. Bit like Ian Wright when he ventured North of the Border. Never stood a chance. Not a good way for a great player to bow out.
I went to see Gazza in-the-flesh when he joined the Boro. It was like meeting Pele, I went weak at the knees... a bit like how Gazza feels everyday of his life. There's no two bones about it, Gazza was one of the best players in the world. Unfortunately for the Boro, the only good thing he ever did as a player was nick the team coach and crash it 2 miles outside of the ground.

My ex father in law fixed his boat for him when he was up here at Rangers so he offered him V.I.P. tickets to a game but as he hates footy asked if I could go instead, (I was a season ticket holder at Ibrox at the time). He gave me two of his tops that he'd worn in games and was an absolute gentleman, a real nice and sincere guy. I believe he was the best player in the world back in 1990, if only the red mist did'nt decend on him so often he would have been the greatest player this country has ever produced.

Isn't that a bit of an oddity? Supporting both Rangers AND Everton? What are we, Muffy? An atheist?!
I gave up watching Rangers when I got fed up listening to the bigoted gits rambling on about killing catholics. I've followed Everton as a side project since '78 when Villa robbed them in the old league cup final but in about the last 10 years its become more of a bad habit, I had to spend 20 hours in a line for my '95 cup final ticket, so I suppose the short answer is yes!

Indeed, I've always thought of Everton as a 'Catholic' club, historically. And not one a Rangers fan would perhaps liken to?
Remember the old ski-hats from the 84/85 season, where everyone had their own team on one side, and then their Scottish team on the other side? Now there was a fashion statement! Saw an old boy (70 or more) wearing a Linfield/Rangers hat on the tube in Glasgee a year back. Talk about nailing your colours to the mast.

Nic The Blank, I can only beg you not to introduce any banter about Iced Hockeys... it is the single most boring pass-time humans ever did invent... except skeet shooting. Avert your eyes to the talk of footy or soccerball as you say and pretend like nothings going on.
Did Sebsy ever calm down after his Pringles outburst or hasn't he come to bed yet?... I mean, you both live in the same house don't you? (a bit like Morecambe and Wise)
Hockey boring?
Hey, that's our national sport ;) We're borned with hockey sticks in our hands here.
I must admin regular season of the NHL is mostly boring, but the playoffs are quite good...
And since we're the home of the best hockey team of all times (the Montreal Canadiens), it's the sport we can't get enough of :D (even if the team goes nowhere since 1993!)
Anyway, I'll leave you to Soccer than, I do find it boring because there is not many goals scored, but I guess you get use to it. It's now the #1 practiced sport in Canada, it was hockey until a few years ago...!

Been a toffee all my life, My Dad was the ticket agent for North Wales during the 70's and 80's, I met all the team in about 1992 at Bellfield (inc. Dave Watson who i lurved!!) I was a season ticket holder in Bullens Road for about 4 years when i lived in the area, I have been to more Derby matches than most people have had hot dinners, I travelled all over the country to watch them, My brother is named Howard after Mr Kendall (honestly!!!)I even saw them play Crystal Palace (and lose 4-1) in 1991 at Wembley (Zenith Data systems cup) which i think is ample proof that im a fan!

Ice hockey can be a bit dull, but it is surely better than outdoor hockey. It brings back memories of school PE lessons, having to play outside in the rain, and having the 'hard' blokes+birds hacking away at your shins while pretending to go for the ball. Evil.
Cricket's much better
Liv, I think you're more qualified than me! I mainly go to games at Goodison and try to stay in the north of England to cut down on the travel. Driving to matches is when I try to open the minds of the unbelievers to the ways of New Order and my other favourite, Neil Young, sometimes successfully, sometimes not. I once left a friend who supports 'the red shite' at a service station when he said my taste was in my arse, but he had the last laugh as they fluked a win over us that day!
Seb, cricket is even more boring than hockey! My one attempt at the game was on some playing field in Didsbury, Manchester in the summer of '76 during the Montreal Olympics. My head was swimming with lusty thoughts of Nadia Cominech, (bad spelling but you know who I mean), and was rendered unconcious as I took a corker plum in the middle of my forehead. I never touched a bat again! 
There's nothing better than a hot sunny day, few cold beers, watching a close cricket match. I've even managed to persuade my bird to go down to the Oval on a few occasions with me. A very under-rated pastime.....
I used to like the atmosphere on the terrace at a football match, cold, pissing down with rain, but come the advent of all-seaters the atmosphere doesn't seem quite the same.
Cricket... cricket... cricket.

I stand corrected, cricket is more boring than Iced Hockey... and perhaps squash. Sometimes I look at the screen and attempt to work out what the blokes are doing. One man just stood in the corner of the field for over an hour... I thought he was dead at one stage and was considering writing to my local MP... who I own.
See, the pringle muncher does talk sense on occassion! Definately the most mind numbing 'sport' ever!

But fair enough, liking Neil Young and Paul Weller you would be in a very good position to define 'boring'
