I was joking about the forwards Hooky, They're the 2 leading scorers in the division aren't they? Do you think Kev's the man though? Not convinced by him at the moment

Going back to Heskey (for the last time hopefully), youre right, he did score a decent goal, but at 4-1 down, the Germans were a complete mess by that stage, and I would have backed myself to grab one. Obviously when I watch him, I'm just missing something....

Sorry Seb, I'll take my foot out of my mouth and read things a bit more carefully before I spout off...

Greenacre is indeed class, but he didn't score 32 goals last season did he?!

He did score 25 in a shit team though...

Brighton were many classes above us last year..and I'll be eternally grateful to them for stopping the cheating Scum from Chesterfield getting the championship.

Chris Greenacre started his career at Man City, but we decided he wasn't good enough for us; so we sold him for a tube of Pizza Pringles

Same goes for Nicky Weaver Hookster

Weaves started at Mansfield I think, and we bought him for a princely sum of 3 tubes of smarties; which is now looking to be vastly inflated judging by his form over the past 16 months.

Jarvo, as suspected, your good grounding football knowledge forecasts are in line with my own. Circa the mid-nineties the England team (whoever plays) will adopt the 'oh shite, quick, leg it about, we have to win this one' mentality. Only a stern word at half time will calm the boys down... a 2 goal late scrape was my bet... it may yet make the bookies with a tenner.

Being a Boro follower watching England is sometimes strangely the same. Boro can wank all over Man Utd., then bottle it and play like carrots against a lower division band of misfits... Mansfield Town for instance. The reasons for this are much debated on the terraces, sorry, seats of the Riverside. England are the same, you know fine well that after a 5-1 win against De Germanz, we'll cack it when the Greekos raise their head on home turf.

Heres one for you, my bird has this mad psychic ability to guess scorelines... well its won me a few bob. On saturday I noted to here that Spurs were beating Man U 3 shit all... to which she said, don't worry, the Mancs. will win 5-3. Obviously I pissed myself. But, well anyway, you get the general idea.

I'll give you a tip if she feels the force between now and the day of days. I did see the Greeks couldn't be arsed this weekend, but, you know, it'll be a struggle.

It'll be more of a struggle if they play Heskey the useless bag of carrots.

Right you are Hooky

Mind you , to be honest I'd happily have him back at Mansfield...stuck with the Utd reject Kevin Pilkington at the moment!

Huntsy, are you agreeing with me on something?

It could be seen as that.

mmmm....still far from convinced. He had a very good start to last year..as you say when Owen was injured...and then went completely off the boil.I admit he did go of the boil but we would not have been in the competitions we won without his contribution. He's had one good game for England as far as I can remember-against Argentina in the 0-0.Even on your terms that's one more than Cole. He doesn't put himself about like he should, and is not particuarly sharp in or around the box.He still managed 22 goals. Agree to disagree on this one I think Excuse this message being a mess i now have no idea how to fix it.

... I would also like to openly display my backing for the boy Philips. Despite being housed within a lacklustre team of putrid infidels he shines out like a beacon of hope from the film 'Hope Floats'.

If only a 'decent' team were to nurture the obvious raw goal-scoring talent that is Mr. Keith Philips. I'd offer him a slot at the Boro, however, the Boro are unfortunately less likely to win silverware than the Maccum Tackum and Pick-em Chickens.

Whomever choses Emile Hoskins above the boy Philips really needs to address his or her appauling lack of taste and general decency. As for Robbie going-back-in-talent Foul-up, he is the only player that gets worse during his career (with the obvious inclusion of Mr. Paul Gascoine). Andy Cole has the ability of a lame hen. Even the Huntsman could score more goals than the goal-drought munger Cole given the supply from Becksy and Scholarship Lessons. I mean, for fucks sake Cole... the fucking goals in front of you, not behind you, on top of your pigging head or in row Z you fucking manimal.

Er, yes, your right Sebbsy, Philips is class... does he not deserve as many opportunities than Andy, boil on his arse Corkkscrews? (and as for calling him Andrew Cole... dear me - that's Mr. Huntsman to you Cork).

Is it just me, or does Kevin Phillips look like a rat?!

He's a strange sort of grey colour

He's still very good though

Its arguable whether or not he looks more like a mouse. Either way, he probably consumes a great deal of cheese.

Growing up with only one 50 yard line, you can imagine my surprise when I saw two of them on the Canadian fields.

Jeffy,

The Rangers facing the Expos in the World Series would be quite funny once you realize that your shortstop, Alex Rodriguez, is making EACH YEAR almost the same amount of money than the Expos' overall payroll for 2001. Don't be offended, but I think your owner is a crackpot.

As for canadian football, I'm not aware of the subtleties of the game (I am not a football fan, for some reason) but from what I hear, a lot of people think that canadian football is more exciting and faster than american football. But, still, the Big Money is south of the border (MY border... not yours, OBVIOUSLY.... hahaha).

Why, yes, Mr. Hicks (owner of both the Rangers and the Stars) does seem to enjoy tossing his money around. Doesn't A-Rod make more money than some third world countries? I failed to mention that I did work for the Dallas Stars from the time they moved from Minnesota until after they won Lord Stanley's Cup. Hicks will throw his money at the players, but the rest of us were expected to subsist on two rusty nickels and the left over nachos at Reunion Arena. Now if Hicks could just get Bob Gainey (who learned his hockey were Sebsy?) to go be GM for the Rangers, they just might win a championship.

hahaha, you are a wise man Mr. White.

Yes, Gainey did learn his hockey in our Montreal Canadiens school. I'm not too sure he would be of great help to the Rangers, though.

A lot of people from the Expos' message board at FanHome.com (where I go from time to time) were very high on one of your fielders, Gabe Kapler, and I never quite understood why, and based upon his performances for this season, I'm greatful we didn't make the trade.

Why bother paying A-Rod 25 million a year when you're 40 games from the division title? FOURTY GAMES!!!!!!!!. And I think it's the perfect irony that the team who lost Rodriguez, the Mariners, is the one responsible for your team to be 40 games behind.

I think the Mariners clearly showed that having many good players in a team is much better than having one, two or three big names (they lost Randy Johnson, Ken Griffey and A-Rod after all).

Hopefully, the next CBA agreement will put some senses in some of the owners' minds and establish a salary cap and a real revenue sharing system. Because the game is just not fun anymore. As an Expos fan, I know what I'm talking about!!!

Sebsy...

by chance, are most of the posters at that other site female? Kapler has earned the moniker of Gabe the Babe from the Rangers female followers...apparently he has a nice ass, not that I have ever noticed. And you are probably right, not even Lord Gainey could help the Rangers, there must be some kind of curse, maybe the Ballpark is built atop an old indian burial ground.
