Any word on even a remote possiblity that NO will do a gig on Saturday Night Live? Just wondering

That would be the best....that would be one of the few times that I actually watch Saturday Night live and want to see the band that is playing.....

Last time I watched it to see a band was for David Gray...but he only did one song, instead of two because that semi-retarded Canadian idiot, Tom Green went on way too long with his sketches....very disappointing, indeed..

I think one time that Morissey was on...which was very cool.

Ben Affleck's episode last season was hilarious, but otherwise SNL sucks s**t. I did love the Weezer appearance last season, especially Islands in the Sun when Will Ferrall joined them onstage

I think that I might just have to agree with the both of you on this one...if by some strange fooking chance they could get the Order on, it would be true greatness...I know Billy and the Pumpkins were on once before, so maybe that could be just the slightest of influences...couldn't you just picture Hooky bashing some of those audience members in the head with his bass???

I believe there was a post on the old neworderonline site from an intern at NBC who had seen the preliminary list of musicel guests on SNL, and he said that New Order were on it. So even if they don't get put on SNL, they may be on Conan or something.

Well I hope they would AT LEAST make it to Letterman and Leno, and not the "second rate late night shows" like Conan or Kilborne.

It would make sense.

Kilborn sucks, this is true, but Conan would be the best possible format for the Order. He usually has some big names pop up (the Lou Reed and Cure performances were awesome) so I don't think it'd be a mark of shame for NO to show up on Conan

What I was saying was a lot more based on the RATINGS of the shows rather than my individual opinions of each shows, although I'll admit I've been a David Letterman fan for the last 15 years.

To be fair, in the states at least the name New Order doesn't carry a lot of weight with the under-18 set of Britney wannabes and Nsync lookalikes ("Nah man, they ain's gay. Yo, I'm not down with that"), so it's kinda doubtful they'd get on the Leno show. Also, their reluctance to play the "Hollywood Game" (no tear-stained interviews with Barbara Walters, no "exclusive previews" on Entertainment Tonight) makes them almost an unknown or unacknowledged entity. Letterman would indeed be the perfect format as well, but we'll see how it goes.
