I'm watching Vh1's "I love the 80's" they talked about the bands that defined "modern rock" at the time. So they mention, INXS, Morrissey, The Cure, Depeche Mode and ERASURE, but they fail to mention our heros...

the other bands were a lot more popular, i guess.
you have to admit...the series was very entertaining, though!
I like the series, too. You have to remember that they are highlighting stuff that was popular here in the states.

I knew VH1 wasn't worth it when they didn't mention Joy Division in "Behind the Music:1980" 
Anyone catch the "Punk" weekend in MTV2 last weekend? I missed it cos I have little or no access to MTV2, but I was hoping there might be some acknowledgement of JD/NO....
The only time I've seen JD on MTV was when they were bragging about how great and unique Interpol is. "Buy this band! It sounds like these other bands! Therefore it's cool! Let's all pretend it's the 70's and 80's again!" Then they showed a clip of "LWTUA", and The Smiths' "How Soon is Now?" video. I don't know if that's a good thing, or a bad thing.

Moby played the original LWTUA (yes the low budget version with the mistiming and all) a few months ago in prime time...and he gave them serious props as well.
Growing up I seem to remember MTV giving NO more than a fair amount of airplay compared to chart positions of the songs....and MTV2 played Crystal in rotation even though it never charted here in the states.
VH1 however is total crap...
I've never seen it, but I've heard that they mention NO in that History of Rock and Roll series. Anyone seen that?

If you're talking about the series that aired in the early 90's on PBS, New Order are featured in the last episode. If you're talking about the one that airs on VH1 every now and then, it being VH1 I wouldn't bet on it, but it's possible.
