The release of "Retro". We have been waiting for a New Order boxset since 1998 and it finally saw the light of day in 2002. I will never forget the fuss about the tracklisting and all our whinings that were responsible for the inclusion of a bonus disc of rare material.

Probably a missed opportunity, but I think the 24 Hour Party People & Here To Stay release should have been the event of 2002 for them...

But, (I haven't seen it yet) they are not very present in the movie, and Here To Stay didn't get the airplay it should have gotten.

I'd say 24HPP and Retro. However, I think they both disappointed me because I sat around for months hyping them up. Still great though.

seeing as i had already left the UK before finsbury park, and i haven't received my copy of retro yet...i'll have to go with 24HPP. i thought it was a terrific film and i was surprised it took this long for a movie like this to be made.

Well, it's released in January, so I'll be able to see it.

Don't know yet if I'll buy it, but I doubt many stores will rent it..

I've still got mud stains on my trainers from that gig...I don't think they will ever come clean...

Paris in May just has to be the event of the year for me. A dozen(?) NOOL'ers plus assorted cronies having it extremely large for 48hrs in the City of Lurv. About 30 Brits in total? Classic stuff! Any rumours emanating from that one were only the tip of the iceberg! Fantastic time all round.

First German gig - me and Gary from Pompey stuck outside a German niteclub at 4am when we had to be 500miles South of there by 10pm the same day and without a taxi in site. Drenched through from the torrential rain, and freezing our cods off. I swore to God that if there was a button I could press which would see me tucked up safe and sound in my bed in London but that I'd never be able to see New Order live again then, believe me, I would've pressed it! Thankfully though, that 'button' wasn't around! (And the 2nd German date was so much warmer, and drier!).

Oh, and 17 days in Oz was a real treat too! Shame about the on/off weather, mind!!

Have to agree 100% with that Al - it was a brilliant weekend, and having not met most of the NOOL posse before that weekend it was great to have such a great time with so many like-minded souls. Fookin' top weekend !!

erm It's gotta be Finsburgh Palace fer moi as well, shortly followed with Move and then all the dancing down the street like Barney after it. Retro was nice, 24HPP was also........highlight for the year will have to be the interview the band did on the BDO weekend though.....thoroughly entertaining and great to see the sense of humour is As It Is;) I'd also like to nominate the introduction of the "New" songs.....none of which are particularly new...that's the IRONIC part:D Brutal, SLC, Digital & Transmission. Hopefully fer next season they'll dig out As It Is and Sunrise and AOC and TPK and..... :evil4: Also winning the 5 11 dvd was superb :beer: Barney's dancing and banter between songs have been better than ever, not to mention the funniest sight of him falling on his arse during Hultsrfed.....Lowlights.......annoying the Scotland supporters with WIFM :lol:
