YOU'RE MAD! MAD! MAD!

How can I choose? Both are so perfectly New Order......

Jeez, Nic, you're an :evil3: man

I know I am.. I think I'm unable to vote myself..!

I think both are great songs, maybe I should close this thread because it might be the last vote for the "Survivor" game ;-)

I just can't pick one, and I just can't see how I would put those songs in my personal chart..

I'll let time do its business.. I know I don't like Crystal's intro, the single version should be "the" version... just like HTS..

Both had at least one great remix.. (Lee Coombs & Felix Da Housecat)

HTS. as i said in another thread: new order + chemical brothers = magic.

crystal since in was there comeback song, of sorts

Crystal wins for me, its one of the best New Order singles period.

Here to Stay is good, but not as good as Out Of Control.

Cheers ALEX

Here to Stay just somehow evokes more emotion from me. Don't know what it is exactly...not saying that Crystal is bad by any stretch :D

HTS. The bit at the end where it repeats "Here to Staaayyyy" in a sort of monotone is why I love to listen to New Order. Brilliant!

crystal for me. I feel here to stay sounds like a "project" of a song than a song per se. when I finish listening to it I go "ok, it´s good but... what else?". is like something´s missing.

Puh...that's a tough one. i say "Here To Stay"! Crystal is surely a classic, but i'm a bit fed up with it by now. "Here To Stay" is fresh on every moment, the guitars, the electronics, the vocals and this "Here To Stay"-vocal part, brilliant!

Well, Crystal really isn't their comeback song, Brutal was. I think I like Here to Stay alot better, it sounds like it could fit perfectly on Technique. Plus, I'm a big fan of the Chemical Bros, so this gets my vote.

This is hard but i'll go for HTS. I like listening to it very LOUD...:spin:

Since crystal was probably the song that first made me aware of new order as being good I would have to say it is the better of the two. Here to stay is a briliant song but the guitar riff and bass solo of crystal just takes my breath away.

I remember seeing the crystal video for the first time and being very confused - "surely they must be at least forty years old by now??!?!" , then i forgot about that and enjoyed the song. Excellent stuff.

'Crystal' for me. HTS just lacks something for me and i feel it's just new order by numbers in that it sounds like the chemical brothers, who are big fans, having the chance to make a new order record.

No competition whatsoever.

Crystal is CLASSIC New Order. Here To Say just isn't. Listened to the latter to death for about 2 weeks, then woke up one morning and thought, god, this is boring. I could never say that about the former.

Anyone who says the latter just ain't seen this band live.

Crystal is just one of those songs that is pure New Order - every time they go away, they come back with a gem...Regret anyone ? Easily in their top ten all-time songs.

Here To Stay is a good tune, and would be in my top 5 New Order 2001-02 tracks, but no higher.

  1. Crystal
  2. Primitive Notion
  3. 60 miles An Hour
  4. Sabotage
  5. Here To Stay
  6. Vicious Streak
  7. Player In The League
  8. Close Range
  9. Someone Like You
  10. Rock The Shack

"Crystal" is probably the best song I've heard in 3 years. I like Here to stay, but it sound more "chemical" than New Order

Chemicals can be fun if used in the right way.

;););) anita...better living through chemicals

HTS = Really good song.

Crystal= Absolute classic. Magnificent. Best single I've heard from any band for years.

Crystal wouldn't even breach my NO Top 40! When I first downloaded it in April 01 I really feared the worst for the new album. Thankfully Get Ready werent that bad.

Here To Stay on the other hand is, as I said earlier, the best thing since Regret.

I saw em live 1985, 1987 & 2002 and still prefer HTS.

HTS to stay is a great choon & long awaited as well. Almost sounds as if Gillian is playing on it.

Crystal, however, is one of NOs finest moments IMHO. The 6+ min album version which they opened their sets with this year & last is just sublime, that guitar outro, nectar.

Talking about degrees of excellence here, but Crystal is up there with Regret, Temptation & Ceremony for me.

crystal...substantial,rewarding..

hts...a tad skimpy,a quick fix..

btw when do you go to australia to watch a couple of thrashings j.g ???

Crystal for me but I prefer the radio edit version which appears more powerful than the meandering album version.

I like HTS as well especially the Glittermix. Was a bit disappointed that it never got a live airing in the Summer.
