According to the Interview Hooky gave to Metro, here's what he had to say:
What's next for New Order? We're going to get this album written and finished and hopefully we'll do something live for the summer. I'd like to anyway; all I've got to do is persuade Bernard [Sumner].

Better Reading/Leeds than Glasto: you get two gigs, plus you don't have to fork out for an entire festival if you don't want to.
Hopefully they'll put on their own show, tho': Old Trafford again, anyone?? Or Maine Road??

A nice little warm-up gig and Glasto would be good fun. A European adventure would go down quite well, say Amsterdam or Prague this time round.

Yes, those venues would be better and you could also add in Tower Ballroom, Malvern Winter Gardens and Wolverhampton Civic Hall for good measure. But, sadly, its unlikely to happen.
yep...you are right...no chance of this type of venue being used in 2003....was at all three you mentioned...all classics...and for me not alot of travelling involved...not too keen on wolverhampton though...( apologies anyone from this part of the black country )
Not too keen on the Wo*v*s myself but thats another story.
Hopefully though the traditional warm up gig will be at a smaller sized venue.
