Yeah I know there is a web site for Factory Records, that has not been updated in ages, but I just watched a part of the Cannes Festival press conference for 24HPP and Tony Wilson said that "Factory is not dead, it's now called Red Sellers" ?

Not sure if it's the actual name, the conference is overdubbed in french..

Wasn't there a "Factory 2" for a while? It was mentioned in Mick Middles' book, back in 1996. Other than that, I don't know...

Yes, for 3 months, and then they bought the name "Factory Records Ltd"..

London bought "Factory Communications Ltd"..

So http://www.factoryrecords.com is them.

But apparently, they have another label..

As you can see, they are looking for someone to do a site on the Happy Mondays..! wonder is that's still the case.

In fact (no pun intended) the right name is Red Cellars and I've read an article somewhere saying that this label is a new Factory seeking for new bands.

They have a website to send the demos: http://www.redcellars.com

Factory should just let the name die completely... along with the Hacienda. The old glory days will NEVER return, so they should just unplug the breathing machine. It would be nice if those two names were only allowed to be spoken in very specific conversations referring to the 1980's. Kind of like retiring Wayne Gretsky's #99 for all of hockey.

I don´t understand. we´re talking about Factory still working? or we´re talking about a label that has the same spirit, wants to do the same things, etc. but actually IS NOT Factory? I wonder if they would recieve my demo :D

Well, it's not "Factory", but it's everyone from Factory...

It's Tony Wilson's new label if you prefer...
