Which New Order song will be your first of 2003?

Someone in New Zealand or Tonga or somewhere round there could play the first NO song of 2003. Who is going to do it and what will it be?
I'm at the mercy of whatever the DJ wants to play but I'm sure said DJ will be taking requests so I'll ask that Perfect Kiss or Temptation be dropped.
Ceremony the first, TBTHOG the second and New Dawn Fades the third...I work as DJ in a pub, here in Bilbao. I have to think more about it...Thieves like us? I don't know.
Here in Spain we have the custom of starting the year eating 12 grapes to the 12 strokes of midnight. I shall time my CD so that immediately after the 12th stroke Crystal begins. Traditionally it has been Fine Time I start the year to but this year Crystal's gonna rock the fucking house!
Dunno what New Order CD's my Uncle Pat has at his house, I may have to take Substance up there, just to make sure it's Temptation:D

Couldn't agree more. After the crappy year I've had, a little bit of "heaven knows it's got to be this time" would not go astray.
I'll be at a party with some college friends of mine. No doubt he'll be playing that Hot In Here type crap that appeals to the masses. I probably won't be listening to any New Order until later in the day tomorrow. My car stereo speakers really suck, and I can't stand to listen to music with all that crackling and what not. And another thing, I really don't like it when I'm listening to a song and someone keeps talking to me. It's ok if you're at a social event or whatever, but sometimes it's like having someone standing in front of you while you're trying to look at a painting. Anyway, that's just a little rant. I'll probably listen to Technique on the drive home tomorrow. It's a great album to listen to while driving through the country.
Who knows, it's not like I am going to be partying at 12 midnight and suddenly think "I should play a New Order song right now... but which one... hmmm..." So apart from that, the first New Order CD I listen to some amount of hours/days after the first will probably be Disk 2 of Retro since it is fast becoming my favorite NO CD.
Hm, this is a bit of a mystery for me, it really depends on what I feel like popping in (Substance? or one of the albums?)
I've been listening to the Clash a lot this past week or so (only three discs in my collection, but tops all around), so I may actually start off with Strummer and Co., followed by the Who. or I may just go to sleep, I dunno 
i am gonna put on a few of the cd's on my 5 disc changer and hit "random" the reast is out of my hands

hell, i'll probably be watching 'dick clark rockin' new years' eve'. at least i'm luckier than my friend who's pulling a double shift at memorial sloan-kettering in NYC tonight!
Not going out tonight, quite tired after a long weekend, so tomorrow (hey, it's still only 4:40 in the afternoon here), the choice will be Your Silent Face (Retro is in the changer now).

My first NO song was coming back home as designated driver (
), was Let's Go (94) because Best of was all I could find to take with me...but my first nights rest of the new year will consist of Retro's Live and Bonus disc, and Electronic's first LP. :D

Was driving from one party to another and it seemed like the right thing to play in the new Suburban that I bought today (Don't give me any crap ok...this car is for my fiancee....I drive a BMW...just like Barney...'cept mine is newer and better than his so Bleeechh)

First record I played was actually Herman's Hermits "I'm Into Something Good". Closely followed by 60 Miles an Hour (Karen's favourite) and a fookin' loud blast of Crystal.
I thought I'd go with a thumping sound and True Faith '94 got the nod. I ended up playing the whole (best of), and then a bit of Substance, followed by the staples of Get Ready. I guess the day has finally come, and the morning sun is still my drug!
Heh, I actually was in the mood to listen to "The Village" for some reason. Although, I just heard that recording of "Love Juice" in the archives, and that song is just really good. I wonder if anyone's ever found out who originally did that song...?
Haven't listened to 'em yet today, but was walking along the Embankment around 11pm last night and the Mary Rose (a docked 'party' boat there) was banging out that Hardfloor Blue Monday thing. Which was quite surreal. . .
I started the year with "Janie Jones" by the Clash, but I haven't listened to any NO yet. Odds are it'll be Temptin' Temptation from the '84 BBC gig

It wasn't a song. It was a live jam (a la most of the things that were occasionally given pseudo Sister Ray/Do The Ostrich lyrics). Nobody is really gonna write lyrics like "love juice smells like stale fish" now, are they ?
I was a wee bit pissed, luckily enough John brought the "Pop" cd from Retro up my Uncle Pats house fer the party, Fine Time came on first....but I quickly skipped to Temptation, there were quite a few of us singing along, brilliant craic, then after the pop cd was finished, we had the usual pleasure of my dad, Pat and the other brother Ted singing Dylan fer the rest of the party.....this also involved 2 accoustic guitars, played incorrectly

It was "Fine Time", though my very first new 2003 song was "Baggy Trousers" by Madness. Nothing like Madness to start a night of drinking

Tucked up in bed, full of flu, listening to Brotherhood on repeat and at 12 it was "Paradise". Anybody know the point of the Robert Racic mix though ? I do love "Paradise" however, it is in my Top Ten !
I didn't think about it before it happened... so finally my first NO song of 2003 has been Blue Monday, heard on the radio.
1963 (1994) because of its lyrics:
"It was January,1963 When Johnny came home with a gift for me..."

Well...I stand corrected. And I can't always understand what Barney sings on some of those live recordings, you know?
Jam or not, irony or not, the song has a good sound. I like Hooky's bassline, and Bernard's choice of guitar chords match the bassline. I can't help it, I'm a musician...what can I say? "The music sounds good."
Also, if you happen to notice in NOOL's Audio Archives, apparently the Webmaster(s) don't know that this is a live jam either...but are you gonna say anything to them? :)
