With all due respect Duran Duran are not quite in the league of the Then and Now tours (not just yet!) Their last UK tour (2000) was a big success, they toured reasonably big venues, I saw them at the NEC, The Brighton Centre and Nottingham Royal, funnily enough the exact three same venues I saw Paul Weller in last year. Wouldn't have thought he'd been relgated just yet.

Mickey Way made a comment about in the other thread, Duran have a huge fan base even now. I would say its as big as, if not bigger than New Orders.

"FLE-FLE-FLE-FLE-FLEXXXX!!"

"WHY-AYE-AYE-AYE-AYE...... WH..WH....WHY-AYE-AYE........BURP!!"

What a song!!

"View To A Kill" wasn't too bad either - best Bond theme song of the 80s (pisses all over the A-Ha one any rate!). The "Notorious" album was utter pants though.

My wife Jeanette was a huge Durannie too you know! ;)

Ah the years.. Duran Duran, Michael Jackson and Culture Club...

God, what music was I listening then :p

Honestly, if Duran Duran is doing music like Ordinary World, Come Undone and Out of My Mind.. I'll be VERY HAPPY to listen to it.

one of my greatest dreams as a child was to be one of those lucky folks in the audience in the 'reflex' video, getting soaked by that giant (fake) wave coming from the top of the stage as they stood there transfixed. now if only new order would do something like that during 'temptation' or something.... and if we can't have gillian on keyboards, what about nicky rhodes? same make-up, etc.

and, yes, liv is right. duran duran do have a huge fan base now. that's because they are and have always been--wonderful. get back up on your high horse, girl (clydesdales are the highest, i believe?), and i will ride along with you. we can travel the highways and biways violently doing away with anti-durans, like in some crazed sam peckinpah film....

Had heard that the wave pouring over the audience represented, how do I put this, Duran Duran's pearl jam.

The Reflex indeed.
